Meeting about RCIA!

I didn’t know where else to post this so I posted it here.

I’ve been a long time lurker and posted very few times. As some of you may remember around a year ago I posted a drunken message (My apologies for that) about how I want to join the Church but can’t see how it is going to work out. Well in the last year a lot has happened that has facilitated me possibly beginning RCIA! I have a meeting with the director of RCIA at the local parish in town.

I would appreciate any of your prayers as this is a humungous undertaking for me. As excited as I am about it it is a very scary time as I know this is going to make me very unpopular with my family and some friends.

That is wonderful! I hope everything works out for you in beginning RCIA. I’m sure it will be an amazing journey for you into the original, ancient Faith. Remember, it is a learning experience, not just about the Church, but about yourself.

Your family and friends will come around. Everyone that really loves you won’t let your becoming Catholic hurt your relationship with them. You should pray for them as well! Let your online Catholic family know if you feel like discussing anything.
 
So I had my meeting and I start Tuesday! During the meeting I was actually somewhat terrified (in a somewhat good way lol) at what I was about to do. This is going to alter my entire life and while I’m embracing it it’s also scary. To borrow from the Grateful Dead the last three years or so have been a long strange trip, and it feels like I’m almost home.

My prayers are with you pollsfriend, can you tell us a little about your conversion story?
