At some point in the future 100% of humankind is going to be exterminated.

Question for ya’. Why did God create ebola? anthrax? necrotizing Staph aureus? rabies? tapeworms?

Also, if the flood story is true, how did Noah and his family survive harboring all these diseases in their bodies?
Why did they have to?
Why was it necessary that disease organisms and parasites survive the “purifying” flood?
And, did God command Noah to collect disease organisms two by two or was one of each enough?

Now, if there is a devastating pandemic of some highly virulent disease; does anyone here actually believe that God will intervene and prevent it from running its fatal course?

But it seem he is advocating the use of it to exterminate 90% of the human race. That is genocide on a scale too large to fathom. This guy is dangerous.

Is he speculating that we are due for a pandemic and considering that ebola is one of the most likely?

Or is he actually advocating releasing a deadly virulent and highly contagious organism to cause a pandemic? This I didn’t get from the article.

I collected some quotes that support the idea that the vast majority of mankind should be wiped off the planet, or rather, used for compost (that was from Rosemary Radford Ruether).

Hey, I’ll have to use that the next time I’m dealing with Young Earther’s…how did Noah survive carrying every form of disease & parasite that can possibly affect mankind…? Or did they all evolve from a single ancestor…?

Yes - actually this is really nothing new other than now it’s more out in the open apparently than in Margaret Sanger’s time. I guess then it wasn’t so much about over population, I guess we have Malthus to thank for that, but it was simple, plain eugenics, wanting to build a race of “thoroughbreds”.

It’s not so alarming that someone advocates such an atrocity; that’s attributable to a malicious imagination bent on catastrophic Malthusian assumptions (ie, one unenlightened by the writings of Prof. Janet Smith). What’s indescribably disturbing is his audience’s reaction.

This is the logic of a world without the truth of the human person as codified by the Magisterium.
 
I do sincerely hope we’ll all hear that this speech and its reaction are simply hoaxes and urban legend.

I do not think so. It has been reported in too many places. Of course, now he is saying it was “taken out of context”.

Unfortuatley, there are people out there who really think this way- they think the earth has a carrying capacity of no more than 100million people- now we’re at 6 billion- so how do you get rid of the excess.
Some population controllers have no problem with coercion, either, thought they won’t come out and admit it.
Persuasion first, then coercion if that doesn’t work.

the earth was made for Man, not the other way around. They have their thinking all backwards.
 
Back in the early 70’s I was in a high level government course on the impact of science.

At one of the lectures the speaker asked if anyone knew the most effective method of birth control. I figured he was speaking of abortion. Since I was one of the few with a beard at the time, he figured I was his friend; so when I asked if he meant birth control or population control, he answered that it didn’t matter they were the same thing.

I then suggested that increased arms sales are most effective.

He didn’t continue on the subject, but I never got to ask another question during his talk. 😃
