Hi, I have a meeting with the Vocation Director in Detroit in a few days. Im not entirely sure how to prepare for it. Ive typed out my whole story on why I think Im being called to the priesthood, but Im wondering if there is anything else I need to do to prepare. What kind of qustions am I going to be asked? or things of that sort.Im only 20, Freshmen in College…

The talk will not be high-pressure, so don’t worry. There is very little you will have to do to prepare, and you already have your autobiography. He will probably ask you about your life in the Church: when you came in (if you are a convert) or if you are a cradle Catholic, when you became seriously involved in the Church, if you had any time away from the faith, etc. He will probably want to know how your prayer life is now, how you are involved in parish life, as well as what is drawing you to consider the priesthood. Keep in mind that NO answer you give to any question will disqualify you, so be confident and open about who you are and why you are there. The diocese just wants to get to know you.

Feel free to message me if you want to know anything further, I’ve been through the seminary application process over these last few months, so maybe I can help. I will keep you in my prayers. Please remember to pray for priests and seminarians always, God needs us and we need the prayer!

In Christ and Our Blessed Mother,
Frank
