What will it take for us to say (and truly believe)?:
‘Indeed thou art the Son of God.’
The gift of Faith from the loving merciful God through grace will.
Not love and mercy alone.
F-A-I-T-H.
Love and mercy won’t save your soul. A strong, solid, Catholic, mega-Faith will.
Our love for Christ should be strengthening our Faith so we can persevere for our salvation.
Love for God comes easy for most but most stop there, not allowing it to strengthen Faith.
As hard as it is to go through the narrow gate to the kingdom of God, it is possible.
It wouldn’t be so and no one would try unless He said it could be.
Do you believe God walked the earth as a man in the flesh?
How could this be?
Because Holy Scripture says so, in His Word, inspired by Him, the Holy Spirit. He says so.
So His Church teaches it as doctrine and we fully believe it.
As impossible, illogical, and insane it is to believe a human could walk on water, unless we totally surrender our trust in God who disregards the law of gravity and says it is possible, we’ll never even attempt it and may even completely lose our faith because of our refusal to trust God.
But how can His grace be real if I cannot see or feel it?
We will come up with any and everything we can think of to justify our denial.
Our weak faith causes an undeniable doubt and we never persevere and follow through.
Instead we must not only truly act as if it were true but with conviction and immediately change our perspective and believe it to be true.
Trusting God as the ultimate reality is faithfully cooperating with His grace.
Miracles are easy as pie for God but they are extremely rare because poor sinners refuse to act and waste God’s grace.
So you have your box of Corn Flakes cereal in front of you at the breakfast table and God says ‘Are you enjoying your Fruit Loops?’
Will you say ‘Lord, when was you last eye exam?’
Are you going to question God Almighty and tell Him He’s wrong?
Then He informs you that the free prize in that box of Fruit Loops is a 18-carat flawless diamond.
Your selfishness overwhelms your respect for the law of nature and you tear open that box of Fruit Loops.
How can poor sinners have the audacity to refute, or even doubt, what God says is real?
Can you offer a brief example of how you asked for a specific grace, had faith God willed it, and despite the risk of failure, you successfully accomplished it in your life?
