Wow!

I would love to be at your house…That actually sounds fun. Do the neighbors mind all the extra street parking from your party??

Wonder how many old folks trying to get to that block area are going to have to hike it a mile to get to their family’s house (your neighbors houses)

Glad you dont live on my block.
LOL It was an example, but our Christmas is like that. 🙂 My grandparents own the house next door to the one they live in and both have long driveways. We can fit 10 cars and a motorhome in the driveways and five in front of their two houses. Guests beyond that generally don’t spend the night so haven’t had neighbors complain as far as I know. It is a blast! We usually stay almost a week. I have meny fond memories of Christmas night sleeping in the living room floor with all the other kids… It was like a sea of sleeping bags. Everyone brings more then twices as much food as they can eat… so there is food everywhere!

To stay on topic… I wonder if my Family all living in one area would be enough for a megachurch all by itself?

I like this new topic better frankly and will be expecting an invite to your Christmas party!!!😃

I dont know what to make of all this. I just want to cry thinking about my neighbor now. I am a bit upset with Megachurches as a result of them hurting her so badly. You would like her she is a nice lady, and her husband was a saint IMHO and I am hoping he is watching us all right now.

I want to close this thread actually but I dont know how to?

I believe only moderators can close threads. I will pray for your friend. Remind her that church is not about the people in them but about God. Tell her that if she is looking for a perfect church, that there isn’t one because they are all full of imperfect people who keep sinning despite God’s warnings not to. People are hurt by all kinds of churches. I was hurt in a very small church that was too focused on appearences, She was hurt by one too focused on money, I know some children who were hurt by priests too focused on lust. No church is immune even the best ones with the most people who are focused on God will get someone come in and cause trouble (Satan will make SURE of it!). It is sad and heartbreaking when these things happen, but we cannot blame God. God desires that we worship Him in fellowship with other Christians and so we go to imperfect churches and we learn the lessons we have to learn… lessons in forgiveness, love, charity and hope. Giving up on attending church because we are hurt is not the answer, and giving up on God because of what some human did, is worse.

I will defend megachurches in general, but I know on a one by one basis they are just as messed up as regular sized churches and they have more people and therefore more trouble makers. It is not the pastors having more money that is bad… it’s the LOVE of money that is bad. Yes, some mega-churches have a p roblem with the love of money… other churches have other problems. You friend may well just attend a ew small church and run into other ungodly things people do. God wants us to learn to forgive these people, to love them and to give our hurt and anger to Him.
