Megachurch Pastor Eddie Long is elevated to king, but of what?

and no one walked out and walked away from this “church?” I’m a Catholic and I was offended when they opened the torah and wrapped it around this self-proclaimed “bishop.” The “rabbi” has no sense of Judaism, no sense of history, and no sense of propriety.
 
This is one of the strangest church services I have ever seen.:confused: What were they thinking???
 
I especially enjoyed the little promos that appeared at the bottom of the video, when following the link provided, for “VirginBirthExposed” - I didn’t need to see anything further beyond that, but it was both funny and offensive at the same time. Quite an accomplishment!
 
That 300 year old scroll was held together with scotch tape and kept on rolls made with a machine in a shop…
 
That is very very sad. Someone who claims to be a Messianic Rabbi wrapping this guy in a 300 year old torah to proclaim him King? It didn’t look like Eddie Long was too happy and it would seem that this would desecrate that Torah. Make one glad to be Catholic where this kind of nonsense does not go on. Yes, Popes have been carried around on chairs in the past and our more recent ones have refused that practice. There was no clear purpose in this but to elevate an over bloated ego in man and has nothing to do in glorifying Jesus. “if anyone wishes to be great let him be the servant of all”.
 
It is so sad that people are foolish enough to go along with this.

Then again I am not surprised. Stuff like this happens in so many churches. I have heard of a clown preaching and one pastor dedicating his whole sermon to sex. :nope:

I cannot understand how these people who call themselves Christians find nothing wrong with things like this.

I don’t understand either. It shows how weak minded some people are. It also makes you wonder what benefit they think will come from this show? 🤷
Like P.T. Barnum stated years ago there is a fool born every minute.

Sad, but true. And the biggest issue with both of these ‘kings’ is this: they are not held accountable for their actions.
 
To his credit, Eddie Long has since apologized. Sorry I don’t have the link to that. But even with an apology, you have to wonder about his cranial capacity to even consider this was okay.
Perhaps a “I’m sorry, I’m stupid, I’m resigning to go sell insurance” would have been better.
 
Among non-denominational churches in my neck of the woods, “Bishops” are veritable peons these days. They’re giving way to characters like “Archbishop Shirley Rich,” “Prophet Sonny Joe Tentraiser,” and “Apostle Rhedemptous (Make Out To) Cash.”

Mark my words: independent “Popes” and “Archangels” aren’t far around the corner.

Agreed! Self appointed ‘apostles’, ‘prophets’, and ‘bishops’ are evidence of corruption brought about by a self-serving attitude that’s becoming more prevalent in some Protestant denominations. But, I’ve seen it growing since the early 70’s, so it is no big surprise to me. :sad_yes:

If I searched hard I’ll bet I could find a Prophet Sonny Joe in the hills of West Virginny. He probably has a still in his backyard at (at least) five dogs. 😃
