Computer Graphics or perhaps Computer Generated. as when special effects are filled in realistically by software. One simple example is All Is Lost, in which the boat, a full-scale model of which was filmed in fair weather, in shallow water and/or a large swimming pool, appears to be battered by a raging storm at sea.
 
Very surprising. I must say I never saw this coming. I’ve been joking about it for years though. “Coming soon, Passion of the Christ II: Judgment Day. This time it’s personal!”

So I guess I can’t make that joke anymore.

At least he got to be nekkid; another director might have shown just the tail of a robe and two bare feet.

I think the shroud still in a bodyshape and imploding was a great touch (i.e. He didn’t just unwrap himself, he bodied out just like the spiritual body he was supposed to be).

I would have ended, though, with his eyes looking into the lens.

While no-one has directly observed a pneumatikon soma, if depicted by a master director, filmviewers might think about this prospect for the first time. 🙂

I am so glad I wasn’t the only one that thought something like this.

Also, was I the only one that didn’t like the Passion of the Christ? Maybe I’m a bit of a cynic, but I felt it was more Hollywood glamorization of violence, this time with Jesus. It didn’t sit well with me at all.

What I found quite compelling was Mary. I loved how she was portrayed and her relationship with Jesus and the disciples.

HOWEVER. Gibson did such a good job and was so Catholic centered it would be kinda cool to see the Pentecost and the setup of the church. Could even end the movie with Peter upside down in Rome.

Just got chills picturing an upside down cross with Peter on it as the fade out scene…

I did not see Risen. Did it make clear that the Church Jesus founded is the Catholic Church?

The movie really focused on a Roman Sentry who came to change his mind and opinion on Jesus thru out the movie, eventually following Christ with the Apostles, I thought it did a good job and was accurate.

The author of the book is not Catholic…so there’s your answer…although it’s interesting that the movie did show an image of Christs face on the burial cloth which was similar to the image on the Shroud of Turin…which is definitely Catholic…I doubt that any of the major movie companies would make a big budget movie on Christ that is Catholic in its content…after all they are looking to make money…more likely a general Christian depiction of Christ so as not to alienate other Christians
 
This sounds interesting. I don’t pass any judgement on movies until the trailer is released.

I actually just got a tattoo 2 weeks ago that says “quo vadis”, so this would make explaining it a little easier :yyeess:

I told my husband about the sequel to the Passion.

He said, Didn’t we go see that? meaning Risen?

I said Mel might do it in Aramaic.
 
Lots of discussion about risen. A movie I actually file under comedy.

I think risen was the. Jc superstar us to the passion as risen is to a Mel Gibson Passion The Return of the King…

I believe the person who made the movie is Orthodox. there was an article about him in Catholic Digest. the Orthodox believe they are the first church.

I might be mistaken that he is Orthodox since I haven’t read the article since March. he could have been a middle-easterner who belongs to a church in communion with Rome, but I was thinking Orthodox.
