We are all sinners. Trying to live as the Church teaches is not the same as doing what you please. Honoring your marriage vows is important. When a person does not honor them he or she is certainly not obeying the teachings of the Church.

Just curious, but can anyone tell me what might be the Church’s stance towards Mr. Gibson once his divorce is final? Will he still be able to recieve the Sacraments? I know he’s a strict RC, and I was just wondering how he might be treated now. I hope not too harshly.
My OP is he is a nasty dog man!

Still married and flaunting a young woman. BARF.

Why is it when a Religion messes up we are to forgive them, but when a man messes up we persecute him? This is why I get so turned off by orgnized religions!😦

God dont “mess up”, people do.

How does anyone here know what he has really done with other women? Do we go by the media, who are just trying to make money by saying things that may not be true. What do pictures prove? This is between Mel and God not between us and Mel.

Who are we to judge him. As I said in another post I heard he is bi-polar. That is a terrible disease and unless you understand what is does to a person please don’t make judgements on him. I don’t know for sure if this is true, but I noticed that he fits the pattern of people who are bi-polar.

Instead of looking into his heart, which is impossible, look into your own hearts and pray for him. I recall one poster said he didn’t like Mel so would not pray for him. Is this the Christian way? I sure don’t want anyone judging me for what they feel is my sin.

As I said before who of you are going to cast the first stone. You will be judged as you judge others.

AAAAAMEN!👍

Its hard to say. I know that if he gets divorced he can still get communion as long as he does not remarry as long as his wife is alive. If he gets an annulment he could remarry. But trust me that are not as easy as people think.

I just pray that he somehow finds his way back to God. does a good confession, and gets his soul back in good standings with God.

But who am I to judge him. he may be in very good standings right now. We can’t believe the gossip we hear.

I always remember what my Mother always said: That tongue can be sharper then a razor blade.

I guess all we can do now is pray for him, I am sure when you have money and live in that kind of life it is very hard to live the life of God. I hope God brings him home. I pray God brings home everyone who is going through a hard time. Pray is all we can do.

Pray for Mel’s conversion, pray for my conversion, pray for all humanity’s conversion, we are all pitiful sinners!

i love what Fr Groeschel says (paraphrasing this Holy man); 'When we go before Jesus to answer for our life, all i will be able to whisper under my tears and shame is “mercy” '.

No man is perfect, only Jesus is perfect, thank GOD!!!

Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, Ora Pro Nobis Peccatoribus!

Annulment is decided on a case by case basis and we would not know unless we are presented with the full fact of the case.
I am involved in an annulment process, and hope and pray that annulment is a private matter, with no one other than the parties and church authorities being “presented with the full fact of the case.”

As it well should be. You are in my prayers and I hope you can find peace within. I am sure this is very difficult for you. I pray that all parties involved will do their best to be honest and try not to hurt anyone. Again you are in my prayers.
