I understand that the Melkite Church has its own Hellenized adapatation of the feast of Corpus Christi. Was this feast observed yesterday? Do Eucharistic processions ever form a part of this feast, or would that particular aspect be seen as purely a latinization?

Some of the eastern Catholic churches do observe this, such as Thursday of the Divine Body, or in the Byzantine in Mucacheve, (Boże Cialo):

I think it was adopted from the Latin Church in Poland-Lithuania. We do not celebrate this in our Byzantine parish.

Wow, interesting pictures. I thought the Greek Catholics that did accept Adoration and whatnot, actually used the leavened bread Host in a monstrance.

For the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church it’s specifically mentioned in the document of Union that we don’t take part in Corpus Christi.

I’m kind of down. As long as something is adopted and imbued by a church’s own tradition I don’t think it’s bad at all. After all, private confession was adopted by the rest of Christendom from the Irish and the Romans, and Byzantines and Copts have all baptized the forumulae and understandings in their own traditions.
