To my surprise and joy, the priest offered the memorial mass in honor of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta today (Sept. 5th). He wore white vestments, and the opening prayer (collect) had mention of her intercession.
Yet when I returned home, there was nothing on EWTN’s calendar, nor in USCCB’s that mentioned this memorial. Can anyone tell me when it was added to the Calendar? This is the first year I heard this, but I have to admit, I did attend another parish not my own. Perhaps in my own parish, the priest has always preferred to celebrate the mass of Ordinary Time.
Thanks!
Incidentally, I received on the tongue today, yet I cannot honestly say I noticed any difference - the real issue is devotion present in one’s heart.
