Memorizing Scripture - Specific Verses

I do memorize larger portions of Scripture so
that they might be taken in CONTEXT. For
example ppl memorize Romans 8:28 “We
know that in all things God works
for the good of those who love Him and
are the Called according to His purpose…”
BUT, they forget that the next verse, which
explains WHY we deem good some things
which are baffling and painful, v29 “For
those whom God fore-knew, He also pre-
destined to be conformed to the image
of His Son, that He might be the first-
born among many.” So, the reason Why
all things are for the “good” is that God is
conforming us to Jesus Christ, and so be
found WORHTY to be called Children of
God!!

Psalm 50/51 I find it easiest to memorize and also Psalms 148-150. My mind just opened up to these even if, while memorizing them I experienced some presure at the lower back of my neck.
 
Wisdom 4:1 is one of my favorites, but it seems that there are different versions in different Bibles.
 
Depending on how you count it, Psalm 117 is the shortest psalm and you can memorize the whole thing.
Praise the Lord, all you nations;
extol him, all you peoples.
2 For great is his love toward us,
and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.

Bit of trivia: “Praise the Lord” in Hebrew is “Hallelu Yah”.
 
One Lent my son and I memorized 1 Cor. 13 – the entire chapter.

Last summer, I memorized Psalm 73 – it’s my favorite.

As @GLam1761 noted, memorizing chunks of scripture gives us a much deeper understanding of individual verses. :+1:t4:
 
Personally, I’m a fan of Exodus 21 and Leviticus 27. That said, if there’s anything that it would make sense to memorize, it would be Deuteronomy 12-26. Most Christians are only aware of the Ten Commandments, but there are a lot more things that God has commanded we do / don’t do, that are found in those 14 books. If you are serious about wanting to humble yourself before God and please Him then you really need to know the full list.
 
There only one Bible verse I readily remember always.Luckly the verse no is most easy to remember and it is the the most important verse also!
It is Mathew 16:16
Simon Peter answered and said: Thou art Christ, the Son of the living God.
