Yes, I have. There has been a real gender-reversal since the “sexual revolution” in which women are the pursuers and men the pursued. But women can only play at being the “stronger sex” for so long before reality sets in … as it already has. Men are now free to take full advantage of many women, because the women, while all along thinking they are “liberated,” have made themselves defenseless. It is the women who bear the greatest burdens of casual sex: single parenthood, social isolation, emotional scarring, rejection, loneliness, loss of respect, etc. Yet the modern “feminists” continue to push women right out of their dignity. No matter how hard women try, they will never be men. And so long as they act like men, they lose their natural strength as women.
Incidentally, all of these ideas and more can be found in a book I highly recommend: What Our Mother’s Didn’t Tell Us, by Danielle Crittenden. Both men and women stand to benefit a lot by what she has to say.
This is very interesting. Feminism used to be about basic decent equal rites for women. The right to education, the right to vote and equal pay. When did it change and become so sexually orientated. There are so many forms of media teaching us to be obsessed with our looks and subsequentley our sexuality. It is often in a negative way (eg: the already mention trash magazines like Cosmo, Cleo, t.v shows like sex in the city, desperate housewives etc). It is being portrayed as female sexual empowerment. Have you noticed that? That the message is: Female Sexual Empowerment is great girls, Go find your G Spot and dye your hair long and blonde, buy a Dolce & Gabana Dress, find a well paid yet attractive man or men and you will be in HEAVEN. So on the one hand men have your typical sleazy porn to watch and on the other hand he is confronted with the sexually dominant and beautiful images being portrayed in the previously mentioned mainstream media, what is he and we meant to think?
What are we meant to believe? When the message is MORE MORE MORE how are we ever meant to be content with a humble home, spouse, and children? How could this ever satisfy us for life? No wonder so many people feel dissapointment with their lives instead of counting their blessings. This is heading down a completely different track to the original question posted but is shows what confusing messages are being sent to males and females.

Again, thanks for comments Surfin, great analysis on where feminism has gone since it started. Never considered any of those angles. Sad…

FB- Yes, agree with your post.

Aussie, I too remember when feminism was about equal rights, pay, ect. Who wouldn’t be for that? But I to think Surfin’s last post shows us that it’s gone way out of what is was supposed to be, look at the current generation of Brittneys, Paris’s, ect… Apparently, that’s what sells magazines…
