I am being plagued by really serious mental illness, I don’t know who to go for help.
I can’t stop thinking something, something personal. This is getting in my way of my work, my social life (or whatever’s left of it). I feel guilty for my failures in the past, I can’t stop thinking about them and everyday I spend most of my time thinking about them.

I really wish I’m dead now, I am 21 a graduated from college, currently have a job, but I can’t see myself living another day. I dreamt of a family, a happy life, doing the job that I enjoy while helping other people.

But now I am hideous, single, no hope for a family, had a terrible childhood, and having this mental illness feel like I am hideous not just on the outside but in the inside, I am not doing the job I want and I’m not helping people actively, I donate whenever I can but I feel like I’m only doing it out of asking pity from God.

I found something that was really dear to me couple months ago, I tried really hard to protect it but I still managed to ruin it, I thought it was going to help me through the rest of my life but I managed to ruin it, which added a heavy weight to my OCD, anxiety and depression.

I can’t see myself living anymore, I don’t know if I will be going to heaven or hell after I die, or if there is even a god, but I don’t know what else I can do. There isn’t a day go by I wish I can kill myself, the only thing keeping me from doing it is the fear of the pain. As I say I don’t even know if I believe in a God, but somehow I feel like someone knowing about my issue would help me mentally.

I don’t wanna die, I want to live a good live, please keep me in your prayers and instruct me if you guys are aware of any first steps I can take that can resolve this issue.

thank you you all.

I am praying for you. If you feel those things constantly, I really think you should go to the hospital emergency room, or at least call a hotline for help.

Praying to St Dymphna for you as well, God bless you and keep you.

Yes definitely. Seek medical attention for your issues. If you have mental illness and OCD you deserve medical intervention and counseling. That is the best first step for you should not have to suffer as such with such thoughts constantly.

I am so sorry to hear of your pain and I will join my prayers to the others that you can find relief from such thoughts and suicidal ideation.

Mary.

There is hope for you!
If you’re thinking of dying, please call any emergency room and ask for help. They will talk to you. Or call a suicide hotline in the yellow pages. Or your family doctor can recommend
a psychiatrist. There are medications to stop the cycle of compulsive thoughts and to
elevate your mood. And a psychotherapist can show you that just because you believe
your life is over, or you think you’ve ruined the only thing that will help you, etc., that just
isn’t true.
When we are in a depression, everything looks black and looks like it has always been
black. But that simply isn’t true.
A very good book for you would be Dr. David Burns’ Feeling Good ; The New Mood Therapy

I am so sorry you are suffering in this! I have struggled with mental health issues for years and I understand that feeling of not being able to face even one more day of such immense pain. My witness is that by seeking help from mental health professionals and humbly submitting to the fact that I would need to take certain medications, (probably for the rest of my life,) and lots of prayer, that things did get better. I know it may not seem like anything will change right now, but please, please seek help! You are worth so much to God and He has so many good plans for you! Remember, He loved you, (yes, you personally,) that He sent Jesus to sacrifice Himself for you!

I am praying to Saint Dymphna for you! :gopray2:

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself.
Amen.

Lord, have mercy on us.
Christ have mercy on us.
Lord, have mercy on us.

Christ hear us.
Christ, graciously hear us.

God the Father of Heaven,
Have mercy on us.

God the Son, Redeemer of the world,
Have mercy on us.

God the Holy Spirit,
Have mercy on us.

Holy Trinity, One God,
Have mercy on us.

Holy Mary, Queen of Angels, pray for us.

Saint Raphael, pray for us.
Saint Raphael, filled with the mercy of God, etc.
Saint Raphael, perfect adorer of the Divine Word,
Saint Raphael, terror of demons,
Saint Raphael, exterminator of vices,
Saint Raphael, health of the sick,
Saint Raphael, our refuge in all our trials,
Saint Raphael, guide of travelers,
Saint Raphael, consoler of prisoners,
Saint Raphael, joy of the sorrowful,
Saint Raphael, filled with zeal for the salvation of souls,
Saint Raphael, whose name means God heals,
Saint Raphael, lover of chastity,
Saint Raphael, scourge of demons,
Saint Raphael, in pestilence, famine and war,
Saint Raphael, angel of peace and prosperity,
Saint Raphael, endowed with the grace of healing,
Saint Raphael, sure guide in the paths of virtue and sanctification,
Saint Raphael, help of all those who implore your assistance,
Saint Raphael, who was the guide and consolation of Tobias on his journey,
Saint Raphael, whom the Scriptures praise: Raphael, the holy angel of the Lord, was sent to cure,

Spare us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, Who takes away the sins of the world,
Graciously hear us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, Who takes away the sins of the world,
Have mercy on us.

Christ, hear us.
Christ, graciously hear us.

Pray for us, Saint Raphael, to the Lord Our God,
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ

Lord, Jesus Christ, by the prayer of the Archangel Raphael, grant us the grace to avoid all sin and to persevere in every good work until we reach our heavenly destination, You Who lives and reigns world without end. Amen.

Praying my heart out to St Dymphna and the Holy Spirit to help you. Please persevere, things can get better.

]A Prayer Against Depression

O Christ Jesus
When all is darkness
And we feel our weakness and helplessness,
Give us the sense of Your Presence,
Your Love and Your Strength.
Help us to have perfect trust
In Your protecting love
And strengthening power,
So that nothing may frighten or worry us,
For, living close to You,
We shall see Your Hand,
Your Purpose, Your Will through all things.

By St. Ignatius of Loyola

Prayer of St. Dymphna

Lord, our God, you graciously chose St. Dymphna as patroness of those afflicted with mental, emotional, and nervous disorders. She is thus an inspiration and a symbol of charity to the thousands who ask her intercession.

Please grant, Lord, through the prayers of this pure youthful martyr, relief and consolation to all suffering such trials, and especially for WilT.

We beg you, Lord, to hear the prayers of St. Dymphna on our behalf. Grant all those for whom we pray patience in their sufferings and resignation to your divine will.

Please fill them with hope, and grant them the relief and cure they so desire.
We ask this through Christ our Lord who suffered agony in the garden. Amen.

Praying.

You might like to look around on this blog: littlestsouls.wordpress.com/

I thought of this quote I’d like to share with you that my friend sent me. It basically means… don’t give up when your life sucks. You never know what will happen.

“He was a school dropout. He failed at business. His marriage was unhappy. He was ridiculed by newspapers and disliked around the country. He lost four elections. His name is Abraham Lincoln.”

STOP FOCUSING ON YOURSELF and focus on God who loves you and loves you as you are. Seek to please HIM not yourself and you’ll see life will be worth living.

🙂

Thank you for all of your prayers and caring, It feels a bit better knowing that there are people out there who cares. I will try to repost (or if administrator may coordinate this?) or move the thread to the spirituality thread for more advice. I have been away from the faith life every since becoming a science student. I went against coming to CA at first because of that, but if there is one thing that keep me coming back is the kindness that people like you guys possess.

Thank you for keeping me in your prayers , I prayed again for the first time in a long time last night that there might be hope for me to get out of this OCD loop.

Again, thank you all.

Great news!😃

Been there. OCD and anxiety are terrible, especially if you don’t understand what’s happening. Take a deep breath, remind yourself that God loves you, and that your affliction is one shared by many. And also remember that it is manageable. Seek professional help if necessary and pray, pray, pray! Like me (and many of us), you are wired a bit differently and just need to learn new ways to process things. Things can and will get better, if you give yourself a break and let God relieve you of some of your burdens. I will be praying for you.
May God Bless You !
