are they busing people from Mexico up to work every Sunday? must be pretty expensive. are they all Mexican, could it be possible they are American citizens? or perhaps from Guatemala,El Salvador,or even Peru.
Well, here in suburban Atlanta, they certainly arn’t Norwegians on holiday from Oslo.

We are all hypocrites to one degree or another. Chick-fil-A isn’t as hypocritical as the ones attacking them just for their belief in God. When God made marriage he made it Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. This is self-evident in how we procreate. Chick-fil-A is being attacked because their president spoke the truth.

I agree with post by aicrit but didn’t appreciate the fact that anything considered out of the norm or questionable is attributed to “the liberal left”. That comment is out of place.
Counter-example please. Have any conservatives spoken out against CFA on this issue?

Should a company dictate in a contract to another company that they can’t do the contracted work on Sunday’s? If they attempted to that would be considered forcing their beliefs on others. You guys are trying to make a catch 22 to always find fault.
I believe it is the client’s right to request a time-frame, subject to the provider’s availability.

I think so, at least from my perspective.

They are “Closed on Sunday” but are more than happy to have crews of Mexicans laying floor tiles, cleaning grease traps, installing new roofs and restripeing parking lots on Sunday.

Although they themselves might not work, they certainly are not adverse to paying others to do hard manual labor on Sunday for their own benefit.

I do not think this is hyporcritical. We are not Orthodox Jews, who refuse to turn on a light on their Sabbath–Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. Catholic mortal theology allows someone to work on Sundays if it is necessary to do so. And I bet someone from the store is also working when this other work is done, opening up the store for them and generally being around to make sure things go smoothly, so it’s not like they are not working on Sunday as well. This is just part of life.

As compared to whom? The politicians we currently have in office? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Oh come on, of course it is the liberal left. I’m glad you liked my post but who is Rahm Emanuel but the liberal left. Emanuel “CFA’s values aren’t Chicago’s.” Really Rahm? He’s willing to block CFA from opening a store because CFA founder voiced his opinion. How American is that?

There was also right-wing Christians who claimed they were going to boycott Oreo when they supported gay rights, so you can’t exactly pretend the left are taking away your rights. 🤷 You’re allowed to state that you don’t agree with homosexuality, but other people are allowed to disagree with you. By doing such a thing, they aren’t oppressing you or taking away freedom of speech.

But they don’t follow Jewish laws such as the ones in Leviticus, do they?
The difference being that it was an individual member of the Chick fil A corporation expressing a personal opinion in a venue outside of his company, not using his business as a megaphone to propagate that opinion. That’s a very important distinction. Had Chick fil A done that, I think such a response would be equally justified.

Um…no. The Chick Fil A corporation makes donations to organizations that are against gay marriage. I’m sure the owner/CEO also donates out of his own salary because that is his belief. The Chick Fil A corporation has also donated food to organizations that are against gay marriage.

That differs from the CEO of Amazon who made a donation out of his personal salary to gay rights. He did not use Amazon corporation funds.

Amazon has been roundedly criticized for its lack of corporate giving, altho I find it perfectly consistent with its approval of government-based “charitable giving.”

And there are certainly enough corporate sponsors of homosexual “rights” or homosexual “equality” groups to more than make up for Amazon’s lack. Here are just the bronze sponsors to HRC, but you can find links to the others on the left.

Now, if corporations can contribute to those groups which are working for “homosexual equality,” what is wrong with Chick-Fil-A’s donations to groups which oppose the redefinition of marriage?

I ate at Chick-fil-A for the first time today aswell and I also loved it!

I ordered a #4 and the manager was really nice (and not in a fake, corporate nice…he really was genuinely nice) the sandwhich was good so were the waffle fries.

So I did enjoy my Chick-fil-A while eating in my car with EWTN Radio on. 🙂

Tomorrow (Wed Aug 1st) is the day when all who support their right to freedom of religion and freedom of speech are planning to go there to eat.

Living,

I suggest that you consider the Chik-fil-A association with Dominionism…good food…good food and then execution by the Dominionists. They are similar to Hobby Lobby in their Protestant/Domionionsit bent…

Was not the Little Red riding hood fooled by a wolf in sheeps clothing…happening again I believe…Chicken is Chicken…
CopticChristian—

Talk to Action, in your first link, clearly states they are pro choice and pro gay marriage on the “About TTA” page.

Yep, the ones who are attacking Chick-fil-A are full of dirty tricks. Their goal is the same as Satan’s goal which is to divide Christians.

As noted bny others, this is divisive alarmism, nothing more. Baptists believe somewhat differently than catholics. No suprise there. They actively seek to convert catholics and many consider catholics ‘unsaved.’ But the assertions that they are going to burn our churches, kill our priests and eat our babies is just ignorant hysteria. I know dozens of these folks and they place Christ first in their lives. They know an awful lot about Him, read the scriptures constantly and seek to conform themselves to Him instead of other way around (more typical of Americans these days). They get a lot of details wrong and have some strange theology. That’s a far cry from being hatemongers. Especially laughable is the assertion that Chuck Colson was Machiavellan ‘Dominionist.’ I know of few in evangelicaldom who have done more to bring reconciliation between the catholic church and American protestantism.

Want a villian in protestant circles? Cite those Westboro loonies. But leave the good guys alone.
👍

So to those who believe that Charles Colson managed to dupe Father Richard John Neuhaus and Cardinal Dulles…um, yeah, right----and you’re more astute than they were?

It’s very odd that when Westboro baptists protest the way they do it’s protected as freedom of speech, but when someone politely says they don’t agree with homosexuality they are called a bigot. It’s kind of like how liberals bend over backwards to defend Islam even though Islamic Sharia law sentences homosexuals to death. But all we are saying is leave the definition of marriage as it was from the beginning, and liberals call is bigots.
Politely?

I didn’t bother to read all the posts on this thread, but almost all fast food shops rent their land and buildings, they don’t own them; whatever real estate company wns the property is responsible for repairs and upkeep.

The construction workers you saw were probably employed by the real estate company who owns the land and building, not by Chick-fil-A. If it truly bothers you, you could contact the store manager or email the company to find out whose employees they actually were.
