One more thing about John Martignoni, since he is now so involved with his ministry he is in need of donations.

So even sending him a couple dollars would help if and if cannot spare a couple bucks just spread the word about his newsletter and website.

We need to support people like John Martignoni and places like Catholic Answers who pretty much survive off of donations. If you are on this forum or recieve John’s newsletter, it costs money just for you to visit the websites as they have to pay for the bandwidth according to the usage.

Heck even me posting this costs Catholic Answers which reminds me I should buy something from the store here.

I just got their catalog. Some really good books in it. I have two titles on my “To Purchase” list. (and I haven’t finished looking through it.)

The only thing I have to asks is why doesn’t he list his “terms and conditions” under the contact us link??? Wouldn’t it be good if it was there???

The addendum:

Thanks to the 80 or so people who forwarded John’s newsletter in which he responded to my “Reply” above. [Click here to view the two letters, Issues 24 and 25]

I am not particularly anxious to defend and justify myself or to question John’s motives or methods – there is no end to such futile arguments. A simple example will suffice.

John wrote: ‘Regarding his “Terms and Conditions,” I never saw them until I read his response to my newsletter. Even then, I had to look carefully for them and it took me a little bit to find them.’

See for yourself whether it’s hard to find the ‘Terms and Conditions’ – the invitation to write and ask a question is given in two places (above, under the Question & Answer sub-heading, and on the Q&A page www.justforcatholics.org/answers.htm)). Is the link to the ‘Terms & Conditions’ very far from ‘Your Question’? Is it really that hard to spot?

Undoubtedly John did not read the terms & conditions before he wrote to me the first time. But now that he did, does he respect them? Does he inform his readers the real reason why I will not engage in a debate with him instead of suggesting other motives? Sadly he does’t.

John continues in the next sentence: ‘Also, he said he will not engage in “prolonged” debate, but he didn’t engage in any debate!’

True enough. But I suppose that John thought I could answer his five alleged misrepresentations and his two broad questions in a page or two!

And on and on it goes…

Anyone out there for more of this tit for tat? I respect my readers enough not to waste their time on endless pages of rhetoric and personal attacks. I wish John well, and pray for him, just as I do for all his readers.

However, Lord willing, in the future I will write on the doctrinal issues John raised. Not least on the blessed biblical doctrine of justification by faith alone – the very heart of the gospel message. That I am very anxious to do. (Click here to view Q&A’s on justification).

Just to see I tried the “contact us” link and it just open up a 'new email" for me to type in. **I wonder why doesn’t Dr. Mizzi list is “terms and conditions” under the contact us info??? **It would make sense to have it there. At the top of the page he has the “contact us”… However in the middle of the page (after you scroll down) you see the Answer your questions and “terms and conditions”. In my opinion he should have the “terms and conditions” listed with or near the “contact us” link.

You truly have to look for the “terms and conditions” on his web-page. It is not listed with the “Quick Links”…

I just think that the “terms and conditions” should be listed with the contact us and it’s not…it truly is in the middle of the page, and you have to scroll down to see it.

I believe that John, just hit the contact us link and a “new email window” popped up. Why would John scroll down and look at the middle of the page when there is a contact us botton at the top left corner???

I even emailed Dr. Mizzi and gave him my opinion on it. In my opinion others should do the same.

If that’s the way Mizzi feels, then he shouldn’t have an Anti-Catholic website up.
What did the man expect?
He should be prepared to engage in any kind of debate (long, short, and in between), since he’s making the false claims.
I have the impression he uses “short” debates as more of a “hit and run” tactic. Not a good way to prove one’s point, or disprove one’s opponent.
As far as I know, he still hasn’t responded to John’s questions.

Isn’t it funny that the way anti-Catholics try to bring in converts is by telling lies about the Catholic Church, while Catholics try to bring in converts by clearly explaining what we believe?

It’s just more proof that the Catholic Church IS God’s Church.

Not only am I one of the original 80 who forwarded the copy of John’s 2nd letter to Dr. Mizzi, I even added a few of my own questions, backed up by Scripture, for him. I haven’t heard back yet.
By the way, I found his web site underwhemlming. I couldn’t even get angry.

This Dr. Mizzi must be pals with a Mr. Mike Gendron with whom, a Catholic group that I belong to, published a response to an article he wrote. This person used a similar tactic with us when confronted to make good on a promise that he would retract any errouneous statement if found on his material. Below is how this man miss-represented us to his followers. Integrity is something lacking by most of the ant-Catholics out there.

Now that’s weak!Yeah the only other place that I’ve seen that “Just For Catholics” ploy used is on a pretty rabidly a-C forum that only allows its own to post in that forum where they (again) misrepresent and misinterpret Catholic teachings. They say that if you disagree with anything that is on there you can copy it and take it to their “apologetics” forum where you’ll be bashed to bits and then banned. They don’t even allow lurkers. I know, I was banned for lurking and not posting after I simply decided that I’d rather just read it and let it go.

I have gone through your website. I would like to give you an opportunity to see what Catholics who know their faith really believe. I was an evangelical christian for over thirty years, having accepted Christ as my savior as a 14 year old. Two years ago I converted to Catholicism and have found that I had been mislead by many people who presented Catholicism in a false manner to me as a teenager ,such as your website does. I have found much joy and peace in receiving Christ in the Eucharist as the Early Church did. As intelligent people who have gone through medical school, we both value the historical record and know that we can’t discount history to justify our own beliefs. I encourage you to read about the early Church Fathers and see what they believed. You will find as I did, that the Church Christ started was and is the Catholic Church.

  The Catholic Church has the best pro-life ethics found anywhere because they wrote the book on the ethics of healthcare and life. The pro life movement in the US follows the lead of the Catholics and the most comprehensive ethical writings regarding stem cell research, cloning, artificial hydration and nutrition, end of life issues will be found in the Catholic Church. It is difficult for anti-Catholic folks to give me a reasonable explanation of why the "whore of Babylon" is the only truly pro-life organization. Every other protestant denomination has made compromises regarding abortion, contraception, divorce, in virtro fertilization (killing of embryos)  etc. As a practicing physician, the Catholic Church has provided me with an excellent standard of ethics to practice by always believing that all life is sacred, from conception to natural death since God is the author of  all life.

That site makes me want to puke. But it is like some strange addiction, I like reading his news letters. Sometimes they make me laugh. The “Letters to the Editor” are often funny in a sad sort of way.
