MERGED: Non-Catholic Receiving Eucharist/How to tell them they can't receive?

This morning myself and a close work friend attended a Funeral Mass for the child of someone we worked with. This friend I’m with states he is a “Born Again Christian”. Now I have had some conversations with him regarding the Catholic faith, traditions and teachings, and so he is familar with my love of the Catholic faith, etc.
So it comes time for communion and the priest, does state that those who are not Catholic or not should not receive Holy Communion but that if you wish you may approach the sanctuary with arms crosses on your chest to receive a special blessing. Now, I also instructed my friend that he is not able to receive the Eucharist because he is not in communion with Church. He goes up and proceeds to ignore the plea of the Priest and myself and goes up and receives the Eucharist. I was hoping that he intended to go up for the blessing, but I was personally offended that he ignored both our requests.
Later he said that he believes he is one with the Body of Christ and that his church says he is allowed to receive communion in any church. I explained to him, that’s all well and good and what he did was offensive and he is not in communion with Catholic teachings, he hasn’t received the sacrament and he should respect the values and teachings of the Catholic faith. Of course I will continue to pray for him and that he repents in his own way.
I’m brushing up with the Catechism to get a little more help with the terminology to continue the discussion tonight. Any comments? God Bless.

Unbelievably arrogant and rude. I would not consider the person a friend. Remove yourself from him. This was a Cathloic funeral Mass for a co-worker and he’s there to offer compassion and empathy to the family and does this in their place of worship…WOW.

I misspoke in a Jewish deli once and ordered a ham on rye. The two burly servers behind the counter just stopped what they were doing and starred at me. I realized what I had said and quickly apoligized. And that was about a sandwich.
