LivingWaters, if you have been honest with me that you have been lurking for only a few months, then how would you know the above screen names?
Oh dear. Firstly, as I searched this forum for previous threads on “mormons” and “temples” (temples because I was curious to see previous discussions on this topic, and found a few threads on the temple in Rome, masonry, etc), I found “SirThomasMore” making many of the same statements and arguments as TexanKnight. Secondly, I post at a Latter-day Saint forum where there was also a poster named “AtticusFinch” that also made the same arguments, claimed to be an attorney, etc.

Please do report me to the moderators instead of calling my honesty into question.

Just asking for clarification.

It’s not uncommon for people who have been banned to circumvent bans and try and fool the moderators and the posters here.

Ok! Sorry if I came across harshly. I assume the moderators can use their moderator tools to determine if I have circumvented a ban :).

I am truly honored that someone spent so much time researching me. I had not posted here in over a year before my return (with moderator approval) and have not posted on anLDS site for over a year as well. To research me took some time. I doubt what LW says is true but it makes no difference. I gave him the chance to distance himself from the horrible things his church has said about the catholic church since he claimed to be offended by my jail analogy. He refused. That is acquiescence. To follow the rules of the forum, I have chosen to cease the debate since all he did was dodge. I choose to pray for him. I only want to help him. He is in my prayers.

Be blessed.

You are much less abrasive than you used to be. Had me fooled. Welcome back!!

Thanks TexanKnight, for clarifying things. I appreciate your clear and honest answer. 🙂

God Bless and may your Lenten journey be fruitful! 🙂

Thank you. Yours as well.

I truly am thankful for the people on this site. All of you have me grow in my Catholic Faith.

Thank you

lol…was not trying to fool anyone. I use the same quotes as my sig and use the same blue font. I have told the same history re: my LDS time…a few have PMd me asking if I was the same guy and I have told them yes. I have no desire or need to be deceptive. I am who I am.

When I was here before, I was going thru a very difficult time in my life and my patience level was very low.

Now, I hope I have grown, gotten past a lot of the bad, and am able to actually love the LDS members here. I will always correct their claims on what doctrine is when it conflicts with truth.

I think the main problem with the LDS Church, is they really try to hide the bad stuff. I was a good member, served my mission and was very active, but no one EVER told me about the skeletons. When I found them out, I was truly shocked and felt deceived.

The difference when I was studying to become Catholic was staggering. Leaders discussed with me old problems that concern people like the Crusades, the Inquisition, the Priest scandal, and others. So, when anti-Catholics bring the stuff up, I am not ever surprised.

No Church is perfect. So, the key is to find the one with authority. That is the Catholic Church.

I pretty well accept people as they are, without getting too deep into analyzing-- because that gets into mind-reading which is an LDS trait that I reject.

Of course, I got a rebuke for a less than charitable act last night. Not perfect yet.

None of us are. We grow. We learn. We try. We struggle.

You are not alone

:blessyou:

I used to have a sarcastic refrain, “As you were, as you have been, so shall you always be.” I now realize that a lot of it came from the way LDS treated me.

TexanKnight,
Code:
God bless you for your honesty, and for upholding me in the truth. I saw and read and heard and experienced....to a minor and subtle degree....the indoctrination that is put on LDS members about the Catholic Church, and its on going competitive obsession with us.
They are not publicizing as I know, upholding the Vatican directives to not use our records, but put us down…reading their reactions on their webpages.

You don’t go to heaven putting down and making others out to be what they are not.

I have been in circumstances in my own life, hard experiences, where I dealt with some fraudulent people who deliberately put on disinformation, spins on other people and practicing other beliefs contrary to their public image…scary…and they are harmful and it is upsetting and very disturbing when those in authority should believe you but don’t.

You are shut aside, and then this marginalization only draws you closer to God and to living out His truth…and it cannot be suppressed.

The Mormon Church needs to face up to its own ecclesial genocide of the Catholic Church while strangely ignoring our ‘other lung’, the Eastern Orthodox.

Called to Communion is promoting a new book out written by a Protestant and how important it is for all believers to return to the original early councils and regain our Christian unity.

True unity can only come about when it is based on the Truth.

Thanks, Texan Knight for all your support and in making Mormons face the truth of their own deflections and denials.

Sr Faustina, who is also now baptized in the Mormon Church…this violates the sanctity of this woman…made a prayer up to Mother Mary’s help, praying for the strength to suffer…and to protect us from the veil of religion that hides its malice.

So hear where you are coming from. Who amongst us who have been LDS havent’ had to unwind the corrupt teachings and get over the fact that we were duped and deceived in a very big way. It takes time to overcome and heal from that.

It’s a prism that takes grace to have removed.

Glad you are in a better and more healed spot. 🙂

Likewise, as I had that experience seeing the other face of Mormonism, and then seeing Mormons coming on here with their claims and own inability to be truthful about its stand against the Catholic Church, I have had my ‘fill’ of it.

I did not come to the Mormon threads here on some kind of band wagon…but it just was that I would end up here on these threads. It was disturbing to provide ancient documents and see them dismissed, that show our practices have been fully in effect since 100 AD.

I recall a Methodist minister who came on stating he was with Mormons for about 2 years in some kind of theological setting, and found them all having their own beliefs…it is a man made religion and looks like it is each man for himself and what he wants to draw on.

I pray for the Mormons, pray God’s blessings on them, and pray the Lord will bring them to His Truth.

When I went inactive. Some local LDS tried to kidnap my children. It was pretty ugly with the police involved and the guy who was behind it being hauled away in an ambulance. Hard to totally forgive that. But I have. No hard feelings at all anymore.

When religions label others like this, you can expect such behavior within families.

My daughter and I were very close. She was very spiritual. She was affected by some extreme people in the parish and so on. She married an Evangelical, whose mother is 4 square gospel, and I hear the innuendos all the time about us Catholics.

I told my other daughter I don’t talk about shared faith anymore. I love my son in law and support him in faith and prayer and love. But our relationship has been fractured to a certain degree this coming from the anti-Catholicism…

Getting back to the original topic of this thread, did everyone see the news that whistle-blower Helen Radkey is in the news again? A new “firewall” of protection has been added to New Family Search, the LDS computer (name removed by moderator)ut system that makes temple processing possible. Any user trying to breach the “firewall” into a restricted record will have their account frozen. Any user trying to add the rich, the famous, or the restricted another time will have their temple recommend taken. Letter was read from the pulpit of all LDS wards and stakes last Sunday. This is serious. It means Fortress Salt Lake is once again preparing deniability.

How it played in Atlanta:

ajc.com/news/nation-world/mormon-church-restricts-access-1378199.html

“By not allowing public access to the records, it creates the illusion they have something to hide.” Yet the LDS church continues to demand we Catholics turn over our parish registers.

I have seen reports that many wards and stakes never heard a breath about the problem.
