There is a special on discovery channel about how mermaids exist. Its called “Mermaids: The Body Found.” They used to be our ancestors, they were what became humans. Some of our ancestors stayed on land, and some went to the sea. The show is narrated by the scientists who discovered the mermaids. Mermaids are real, it is now a fact.

What do you think the Church’s response will be?
There won’t be any Church response because there will be no response from any single responsible institution in the world. There’s in fact a mermaid in Copenhagen but it is made of bronze.

I doubt doubt that’s true, but even if it was, it in no way contradicts Catholic teachings and therefore doesn’t warrant a response from the Catholic church. God is still God and Jesus still died for our sins.

The Mormons believe that we have. And this information is freely found on any website containing their religion.
( I am not one of them, simply a voracious reader )

The seafarers you mentioned are from centuries past. At one time, people also beleived the earth was flat and the sun revolved around the earth, etc.

Superstition preceded science. There still is superstition existing, but not to that extent.

Please excuse my posting a second reply. It occurred to me, after the first one, that there actually is a valid reason why seafarers believe in mermaids. That is not to say mermaids ever existed, as wikipedia states that there are real sea creatures called manatees that perch on rocks, that resemble seals. When the sailors saw this, in their loneliness, thy imagined these creatures as mermaids.

If it occurred these days, we’d hear about it on Jerry Springer…lol.

Actually people believed that the Earth is a globe and that the known world (Europe, parts of Africa and Asia) was on top. 😉 Of course there were a few who held it to be box-shaped, like the Tabernacle.

Dear Friend,

Would be good if we were one if we were ever to fall overboard in the high seas. Wouldn’t we have to be cold blooded so we wouldn’t get hypothermia?

No, not true. Unbelievable what you see on TV.

❤️❤️

what sailors thought were mermaids in like the 1500s were actually Manatees.

Though if mermaids WERE real, could they tell us where Atlantis is located? 😉

OK, but you have to admit that the guy on Ancient Aliens with the crazy hair, always waving his hands around, is a blast to watch! Very funny. Don’t believe any of it, but my H loves that crazy guy. 🙂

You’re kidding, right?

Do mermaids really exists, seems very unlikely. We wouldn’t be wrong if we say, they exists only in our imaginations.

Human mind is ever hungry to hear and see and taste something new, and many hoaxes and deceptions do flourish to mislead. Do UFOs and other beings exists on other planets? There were some vague signs here and there, and millions of dollars were spent on trying to communicate with such being, movies and books written on them, and even religious cults formed based on such things. I believe, such things are usually anti-God, something to mislead man in a subtle way, to draw him away from matters that really matter in life to matters that are futile.

Secular media has a shrewd way to incite and provoke simple-minded to a quest of futility, whereas the evidence of God’s existence must be aggressively fought against and stomped down and silenced with all power and resources.

We love watching that guy! I can never remember his name but my wife and I call him oompa-loompa because he is typically an unnatural shade of orange too! Sometimes he says something that sounds intelligent, but then he keeps talking…

Maybe something like “it’s astounding what nonsense people will believe when at the same time they refuse to recognize the clear evidence for the existence of God.”

I was watching it but was unable to finish the (padded) two-hour length

What was their explanation for why isn’t this all over the news, the vast US Navy conspiracy troops moved in, snatched the body and tissue samples?

Now, biologically, I don’t think there’s any real objection–but realy, if there were some actual aquatic hominids we REALLY would have have some undeniable evidence showing up over the centuries

Mermaids do exist. Call me crazy but I saw one in the Norwegian Sea in 1971. It wasnt a serpant or a dolphin. It had a human upper torsso, human head and a dolphin like tail. Believe what you want and I will not try to convince you so please be kind and explore the possibility. If you want to find mermaids I would look there.

Potential Church response: does it have a soul that need saving? No soul? I think you got the wrong department. Let me direct you to the Dept of Natural History, no wait, US Coastguard, hmmm, may be Dirk Pitt from NUMA would be the best person to talk to. Next!"
