So today was my boyfriend’s younger brother’s high school graduation party. I went, knowing I was going to meet his extended family. I was SOOOO nervous…But it went so well! I met his best childhood friend (who is a seminarian 👍) and his family, and most of my bf’s aunts and uncles. (he has a pretty small family)

Something funny happened. Around five o’clock most of his family left the hall to go to Mass (The church my boyfriend’s family goes to let them use their hall for the party) He and I are going to Mass tomorrow morning, so we stayed behind. I leaned into him and whispered “I’ve never seen a family with so many practicing Catholics!! I’m usually the only one!” He cracked up and went “We’re Italian! What do you expect?!?”

I’m so happy it went well. I really hope they liked me. I think I made a good first impression. I’ve never met anyone I’ve dateds extended family, and to me it means we’re getting serious. I mean, how many men want to introduce their girlfriends to their extended family?

Sorry for the ramble, but I’m so happy right now! 🙂 🙂

Glory to God, I hope you continue to have a wonderful faith-filled relationship!

I’ve known a few Italians, and the untroubled devotion to practice exhibited by the religious ones has been an inspiration to me - good luck, and I hope it all goes well! 👍

Thanks guys! This is not only the most faith filled relationship I’ve been in…it’s the only faith filled relationship I’ve ever been in!! 😃

May it always be so!! 🙂

I’m married to an Italian and when an Italian boy introduces his girlfriend to his family…it’s a BIG deal. It means one of two things:

He wants to see if they like you before he gets more serious about you OR

He is already serious about you and wants his family to meet you to see if they like you and whether or not he should continue.

It’s very important to most Italian men that their momas like you. I’m sure you made a great impression! It’s hard to find nice girls like you 😉

blush I had already met his parents and his brother. It was the rest of his family I had to meet. I’m happy that I met them. Today, I asked my bf what his family thought about me, when I left…he told me that they thought I was “very nice” so YAY! 🙂

You’re in! Now let us know when he proposes 😛

Shrug Owell. It wasn’t meant to be. I don’t really want to get into all the details on here, but I will say I deserve to be treated better than what he did to me in the last bit of our relationship. I’m just glad it ended now, rather than in a year or two when the hurt would have been so much worse. God is giving me the strength I need to get through it.

I will say that if it brought you to the Faith that it is a good thing.

It made me stronger in my faith, and for that I will always be greatful. It was awesome having someone who shared my faith, and challenged me to go deeper. Now I know…I DEFINATELY want that in a spouse!!!

Sometimes God only puts people in our lives for a reason and it is but to teach a lesson or show us something we were missing.
