No, Zundrah. The Divine Liturgy is for worship, not socializing. When Catholics go to Mass, we go to focus on Jesus. If it is fellowship you want, then the Liturgy is not the place. This was after mass! And any way I should have been able to speak with some one! It’s ridiculous that I had no one to speak to for more then 5 seconds!
This is an interesting comment from a person who has just spent several posts critisizing how other Christians worship God.That’s the problem! You leave the athiest to just be athiest! But protestant churches have people and missionaries who go out and preach! Standing back and keeping christ all to your self is not very christian is it!? That’s not going to get people into Gods kingdom!
I can understand this. It does not seem like you are quite ready for that. In the olden days, catchumens were not allowed to participate in the Liturgy of the Eucharist.Code:the mass was just too much and with no explaination! Going into that catholic church was the biggest shock I've ever had in christianity!
This is a reflection of your soul wound. You need something, and when you don’t get it from the people you expect should provide it, you get angry with them.I was not really dissapointed with the catholic chruch, but just very, very angry that they wouldn’t help me even though I said to them, “I’m from a methodist chruch and all this is very difficult for me to understand!” They didn’t seem to care… They just seemed to say with thier faces, “You shouldn’t be here.”
It is very possible that they had no clue how to help you.
The Divine Liturgy is corporate worship. During the Mass, we become present at the foot of the cross. It is a profound mystery and often so moving that it is hard for people to chat. Do you see yourself standing at the foot of his cross chatting and mingling with his sorrowing mother?catholics are almost robotic at mass! It’s like a manufactering machine, you go in then you go out, no talking, no mingling, no nothing…
Perhaps it would be best if you refrained from Mass until you are more ready?I know, it’s like you do not belong there and that is exactly how you feel when you go in!
This makes sense. It is likely that you have never experienced what it is to worship in spirit and in truth.I don’t understand why they are this way… I felt as if I was a christian in a muslim temple…
Given the cultural history of your region, it is not surprising that Catholics may be a bit reticent. It may help you to study a bit of the history of the Catholic Church in England from the 1600’s until now.I AM IN BRITAIN!
The church of england is anglican! Not catholic, get it, there not many catholic chruches here!
