What membership form  I’ve been to hundreds of catholic churchs and Ive never seen one, let alone been asked to fill one out
The following explains the above. Why would you comment on something you know nothing about?
I’m not involved in any parish on any level. I like the atmosphere of some catholic churchs and I sometimes pop in to sit at the back and pray.
I do like your comments about why you go to church. I’m with you that I’m there to pray. I do like to socialize with my fellow parishioners at Bible study and at coffee and donuts after mass.

. Why would you comment on something you know nothing about?.
I asked a question. I asked the question ‘‘what membership form?’’ because I have never seen one, never been asked about one, and never offered one.

It seemed like a reasonable quesiton to me. I was asking a quesiton about something I know nothing about, not commenting on something I know nothing about.

That’s how it works, right??

Sorry I jumped on you. It seemed like you were posing a comment as a question.:o

Hmmm. Yeah, it will take a while to gain some understanding of the Mass, and you have to pay attention because no one is just going to do it for you. When I attended my first real Mass here in the United States (I had been to Catholic funerals of relatives and friends, and to Mass in Mexico), I was so clueless that I took the missal home! I figured I could learn from it if I had time to go over the different parts of the Mass myself without being distracted by the responses, hymns, etc. Oops! Don’t worry, I brought it back at the next opportunity after a friend explained to me that you aren’t supposed to do that. 😊

Bottom line: Find a parish that works for you, but don’t expect to feel comfortable unless you’re willing to put the time and effort (and study) into actually learning what Catholicism is all about. There are plenty of friendly Catholics out there, and they’d be more than willing to help you learn, so long as you are honestly seeking and take some initiative on your own behalf.

If I had never walked into that catholic church a few weeks ago then I would never have met a catholic at all! Where are they! They don’t preach out of the four walls of their chruch!
Zooey (Methodist) looks around and notes that she is in her own Methodist home…talking to hundreds, nay thousands of Catholics at this wonderful place called “Catholic Answers Forums”; it is a website where…:oOoops!! Silly Zooey!! Silly, silly Zooey!! Zundrah is also on this perfectly wonderful website called Catholic Answers Forums"…talking to hundreds nay thousands of Catholics, & I bet not one of them is online** inside:cool:**

THIS IS IT! I WENT UP FOR COMMUNION! I went up there and the priest gave me a peircing look and said “your not catholic are you?” I SAID “NO” OBVIOUSLY…

Is this why they gave me a hard time then? 🤷
You :ouch:went up for Holy Communion??? But you can’t do that!! Catholics practice closed communion (as do many Protestant churches…all churches used to). Only Catholics are meant to receive…Oh dear…No, really, you just can’t…
Trust me, Lutherans and Presbyterians (at least the ones I know) are even stricter. I know of at least one Lutheran congregation near here that requires you to fill out a slip telling who you are & where you were baptized/converted a week ahead of time in order to receive Holy Communion the next Sunday. ( I have not been there, but a couple of years back we were talking about this here, & I asked my Lutheran neighbor, & she brought me an extra form from her church).

Well…I think it is:extrahappy: perfectly wonderful:extrahappy: (& I am sure that others here agree) that you have become Christian after believing in nothing for so long. Really, this is reason to:grouphug: rejoice!!! 👍

Trishie!

I am angry with how I was given the cold shoulder!
I know people can be that way. I experienced it in the evangelical church I attended for years and years. You could attend for years, and leave, and not one phone call or anything. Now that they know I’m Catholic, I was all but shunned, clearly to them I was never “saved.”

As a Christian, though, you do need to give it up. They were not hospitable to you, but you need to forgive them. For the sake of your own soul.

I want to try the Church can you guys help me step for step what to expect? …please…
 Gah! NO! Do something for yourself! There is no point in any of us typing out a step by step explanation of what happens at Mass. It’s been done, look it up! Of course, you’ll likely complain that it is too long and will take too long to read.

Your constant demands that everyone do all the work for you, that you be handed everything with NO EFFORT on your part, is seriously raising my blood pressure! Get a little initiative, for God’s sake!

Hey all, the OP on this post was advocating ppl go out and obtain a book of mormon and read it on a seperate post-I don’t trust his/her underlying motives and I think they are here to argue for the sake of—I wouldn’t waste anymore time w this one:(

§ I’m sorry this happened and you felt alienated. However, I think and this is just my opinion that you forcused too much on people in a Catholic Church. I’ve been to different Denominational Churches and felt chilled to the bone. But, I learned to shrugged it off and found a common ground which told me that all of us came for one reason and that was to worship our Lord. I agree that congregations are there to lift and encourage each other. However, Catholic Masses are not to be taken as if they were social events.

Plus, and please forgive me, but, you attacked our faith as you tried to tell us about how cold and odd the Catholic Faith is. If you didn’t find it to your liking, then of course you have other choices. It would have made you happier. For now, you stressed yourself out.

May God Bless You and Keep You. ❤️<)))><❤️
