I think that was the UCC.
You’re right. I goofed! :o

Tantum ergo:
Nondenom, just what are you insinuating? That a tribunal “speeds up” an investigation when offered a bribe?

That is extremely insulting, IMO.

Hi
I wasn’t trying to insult you. I was just telling her what my sister-in-law did.
Thanks

The Methodists’ TV ad just demonstrates that they don’t get it. Mainline demoninations that offer a soft religion, don’t stand for anything, and demand nothing from their parishioners have lost members since the 1960’s. On the other hand, denominations that do take a stand and ask for involvement from their parishioners have gained members over the past 40 years.

Let’s be clear about what we’re talking about; are we talking about the United Church of Christ commerical, or the United Methodist Church commercials?

That would help in trying to understand the “they just don’t get it.” Or is this another Protestant bash where “they” is basically all of us?

O+

I live in the Bay Area of CA and saw this commercial today for the first time.
I agree that it’s less insulting than those ucc commercials but the line “open minds” pretty much tells the story of the people they are recruiting.

You have to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything.

These ads soft-sell Christianity. These ads make me feel that they think that Christianity can mean anything you want it to mean. Whether you believe in Jesus or not seems to be irrelevant. What is important is diversity and acceptance!
