Yep. That’s right folks, our lovely friends the Methodists have decided to open their facilities to abortionists. Now you can pray in one room while a baby is being slaughtered in the other, and please try to ignore the blood and screaming as you worship whatever god it is the Methodists worship nowadays.

Your post is very scant on facts and long on emotion and condemnation. Do you have a link to a news story so we know what in the world you are talking about?

I did but it must have been moved because it isn’t where it was. I will try and find the article again and get back to you, please refer to my second post for more shocking news.

OK, thanks…let the ranting and raving continue…this is so discouraging.😦

What ranting and raving? I think it’s great that they can slaughter babies with the okay of a pastor now. We should all sit back and do nothing so they can keep on doing it. Aren’t you just delighted that now a woman doesn’t have to feel like she’s sinned against God for making the decision to have her baby killed, and she can even get the go-ahead from a spiritual leader? I sure am. Yep, gotta keep killin those babies. That’s what the world needs, less morals and more killin.

What really makes me happy about Christianity is how it’s so satanic, we all just sit here and do our best at excusing away evil and “not wanting to get involved” to do anything to combat it.

Yep. Of course we all know, Every woman who goes to an abortion clinic is dead set on ripping her child apart with her own hands if she has to, even if she has to use a coat hanger on herself to do it. They ONLY ever do it in cases of rape, fetal deformity or health risks. And every woman who goes to an abortionist has no hesitancy or questions about having it done, they just want that baby killed, so they may as well have someone tell them it’s the right thing to do in the name of God, right? That makes them have higher self esteem and feel better about doing it again and again.

Ok this is really frustrating, I just read this article yesterday and now I can’t find it on any search engine. Dont’ know why I’m surprised as they never seem to link very well to abortion related articles. Can anyone find this article for me or tell me how I may be able to find it again?

I think the title was:
Methodists open their hearts, open facilities to Planned Parenthood.

…and to think someone approaching a “chaplain” in a clinic might be searching for the strength to NOT go through with the procedure.

Yeah, if you read the article you’d know that she is a pro-abortion advocate chaplain. They’d hardly let her into thier facilities if she wasn’t, you know.

How about a new slogan? Open wallets and opened wombs?

Quite honestly the reason I LEFT the Methodist church was their sick view of human life issues. They are absolutely opposed to the death penalty but think abortion is ‘just fine.’ When you point out that they are slaughtering the innocent and saving the guilty they will look at you as if you landed from Mars. They do NOT get it.

This doesn’t surprise me at all.

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse, you run acrossed this article as well:

Planned Parenthood Hires Methodist Pastor as Full-Time “Chaplain”
I just sent the Bishop an email stating that this is the very reason I left the Methodist church. I don’t think John Wesley, (one of I think NINETEEN children) would recognize his church today.

The Methodists have become a very liberal sect. It used to be quite different. They previously were known for very strict morals in conduct and dress. 😦

In fairness, the “inhouse” Methodist (me!!) is appalled. I am sometimes asked about things like this. I have to explain that I do not agree with the “social principles” which got shoved down the throats of a lot of us in the UMC.
John Wesley would have ten fits if he saw this.
But I have chosen to fight from* within* the UMC. (Some days are easier than others…).

Mainline Protestantism is an ongoing train wreck. It really needs prayer to get back on the catholic track.

Good for you, Zooey! It’s worth fighting for and I wish you success.

The Methodists are just going through what us Catholics are going through. The Church doesn’t approve of pedophilia nor do true Methodists approve of abortion. I do hope God kills us all for this. And soon.

Yes, agreed, sometimes it boils down to letting a child being born, or murdered.

Or are they protesting about a child being born ? or whatever it is, I’m sure they’ll find some reason.

Good for you. If you get tired of fighting them, you’re more than welcome to come on home:D . Losing an in house Methodist would be tough, but gaining a fellow Catholic is always better!

My take on the Methodist position (Zooey please correct if I am wrong) is that not speaking out against abortion is not to them a human life issue but a women’s rights issue. The Methodist church has always had VERY powerful women. Maybe it dates back to John Wesley’s mother Suzanna who was QUITE a woman of mind and action. The United Methodist Women are are very powerful force within the church.

Methodists have long promoted ‘women’s rights’ such as women in the clergy and other women’s issues. To Methodists denying women the right to kill their unborn baby is to have unseemely control over a woman’s body which to them is to do with as she pleases. At any rate this was how it was explained to me by a retired pastor who said that women had the “God given right to abortion…it is their body” I think the man needed a basic biology class…

Anyway I do think they ignore the human life aspects of this issue and focus more on personal rights (unless you are a baby)
