I really think this is crystal clear and indisputable. “Meanness” has nothing to do with it. It’s about what is sinful and what is not, and, in my experience, I’ve found that many sins are actually quite pleasurable, including sexual sin! Homosexuals talking this issue need to look more clearly at the subject, rather than try to rationalize sin away.

This is really very basic Christian stuff.

While I agree with you that the Bible is quite clear, we have to be careful not to stand on the Bible when addressing people who give it no credence. In other words, it’s in the Bible as an abomination because it is an abomination, it’s not an abomination because it’s in the Bible. For example, murder was wrong before it was in the Bible as wrong, stealing was wrong before the Bible said it was wrong, etc.

Two local Protestant pastors amazed me on this issue. The first dumbly averred as how he would welcome homosexuals and love them but not participate in their weddings “because the Bible says so, and we live by the Bible”, well…if you entering a sodomite union, chances are you’re not a big Bible fan.

The second commenting on a group “wedding” on the City Hall steps questioned the degree of MARRIAGE PRREPARATION!!! the Mayor provided the group. My thought was daily preparation for a million years wouldn’t begin to help a same sex group.

Until society, including self appointed Protestant pastors, figure out the primacy of natural law this whole thing goes down the drain.

He just argues that “Jesus never said such-and-such so he clearly didn’t oppose it.”

He also says that off 200,000 words, the bible devotes on about 40 to the topic.

(It’s all in the excessive posts on twitter that he’s published the past weeks on the topic.) Neither argument is substantive.

I look at it this way - he’s mad at Judas so blames Peter.

On the other hand, Hollywood actor Chris Evans is an apostate. He’s a practicing Buddhist despite being raised Catholic.
