Hi,
I posted this earlier on what I think was the wrong forum. Trying again…Last night on the news, I saw that a music awards show brought MJ back to life in the form of a hologram. He was sitting in a throne under an “M” for Michael that looked much like the one on the Miraculous Medal. The stage was decorated with what looked very much like monstrances. The throne was very ornate and on an altar type platform. I found the images to be very disturbing. Did anyone else see this? What are your thoughts?

Do you have like a YouTube link to the video? It would be hard to assess the production without having actually seen it.
 
Just found the video by a Google search. Yeah it’s pretty awful in so many ways… trying to “resurrect” the dead… putting him up as the “king” amid golden decor… basically worshipping him. But what else do you expect of mainstream society, and a television show that caters to their sick needs?
 
Agreed! I felt the monstrances and throne, etc. to be equating him with Christ. Is there no limit to the sacrilege?
 
It just looks like a “king” set up. I don’t see what’s so weird about it honestly.
 
The M above the throne is incredibly similar to the one on the Miraculous Medal, too. It’s not just the monstrances.
 
Yes, I listed that in my original post. I don’t think any of their “decorations” are purely coincidence. Purely pointed is more like it.
 
  1. Wow, there’s some major Uncanny Valley going on in that video. It’s just creepy as heck, 'cause you know it’s fake, but looks just real enough to be off-putting. I hope that whole “hologram” thing is just a fad.
  2. To be charitable, I’d guess those thingies ringing the stage that look like monstrances are actually meant to be “starbursts” of the type seen in chest orders of royal chivalric orders. I’d guess they were put there to give a sort of Baroque, Louis XIV touch to the stage.
  3. While I doubt that the MJ there is meant to explicitly evoke the Blessed Mother’s monogram (Jackson’s family were, IIRC, Jehovahs’ Witnesses and so probably wouldn’t have enjoyed blatant Catholic symbolism in their most famous son’s act), this IS the music industry we’re talking about, and they’ve pretty much made him a secular “saint” since his 2009 death, so anything’s possible.
  4. For an industry that talks up “free speech” and “equality” and “Civil Liberties” as much as they do, they seem to love them some Fascist jackboots, if the beginning of the video is any indication.
  5. And finally – It’s a post Thriller Michael Jackson. Which means it’s essentially “meh.” Thriller, IMO, was his last genuinely good album, and also him leaving the ramp for his upcoming long-distance shark-jump.
 
Must say it is pretty strange looking at an almost life like performance from MJ, he would have loved that though! 😃
 
I would of got up and walked out because the presentation, a suggestion, would come from a place so far out of touch with reality

Not really anything wrong with this as I saw either, but when the time comes that we start seeing ‘other’ images’ and holograms in our skies, accompanied by ‘god-ly’ type voices, then we as christians need to run for cover…or better yet, pray!

The bible says God will send a great deception to fool people, I think this will be that deception, I think alot of people will believe this and that will be their doom.

Ive heard those in power are going to try to fake the second coming, in an attempt to turn more people away from God, it seems they have the holographic technology to do this now!
 
Why is it that the Catholic Church is reviled in Hollywood and the entertainment industry as having a problem with pedophiles. And this man is celebrated with nary a word.

I loved his music. But now, with kids in the car? It is just plain old creepy.

But the Church is the one who can get attacked. The Church is the one you can bash on to now end. But say a word about the king of pop and you are a hating racist bigot.

Well, because Michael Jacksons talent superseded the problems he had. No matter what he did in his personal life, he was a GREAT singer and dancer, maybe the best we have seen in decades, thats why his music still sells out and his albums always top sellers, parents still jam to his music with their kids around, kids love his music too.

Its not an excuse for some of the things he did, but his talent was what he will be remembered for long term…he will always be called the ‘king of pop’.
 
Thinking about this some more, VertiasLuxMea’s and Pat Payne’s ‘royalty theme’ explanation seems more likely to me than a conscious attack on the Catholic faith. To be sure, we are times of persecution, but we get a bit twitchy and paranoid sometimes, myself included. There are only so many ways you can make a stylized letter “M”.

Look at the antique mirrors being sold on this page. Is it a conspiracy to make men their own gods by replacing the host with the image of oneself? Perhaps, or perhaps it is just a style. There are only so many ways you can make a sun with rays coming out.
