Is it permissible under Catholic moral teaching to subject oneself with a microchip? Any (name removed by moderator)ut would be great.
 
For one thing paramedics can scan your arm and find out your bloodtype, medical alerts, diseases, etc. in an instant.
It can hold information about birthday, address, next of kin…

First we have to determine whether the microchips pose no danger to health. Secondly do these microchips improve the quality of life in general? If these objects do not hinder our personal and spiritual growth in any manner then i guess they may be permissible.

What?! I don’t even think the Church has come out with a position on microchips.

Also, I highly doubt they are the mark of the beast.

There is a beleif that the mark of the beast will be some kind of microchip.

Its a plausible scenario but I don’t want to believe it…Much like I don’t want to beleive 2012 will be the beginning of the end (also plausible) and fallen angels/creatures of Nephilim (unlikely?) will appear in the guise of Aliens (???)

If it is the mark of the beast…No you can not accept it (soul forfeited)
If 2012 is beginning of the end…I am scared (and Arsenal better win some silverware soon else i’ll never see another trophy)
If fallen angels appear in the guise of Aliens…Saint Michael will win…so I am not scared afterall
 
I think you mean a device for the purpose of tracking or data storage, not a medical device. Right now, if someone wanted to tattoo themselves with a bar code, they could. They can also write a phone number on their hand. The tattoo is permanent, whereas I doubt the microchip would be.

we Winter Texans have to wear our retirement park ID badges on strings around our necks in case we get lost in Walmart and have to be guided back to the right RV park. It would be so much simpler to have microchips implanted, like people do with their pets. I must ask my daughter to research this, I sense a business opportunity
so if the chip is in your dog’s ear, or in a cow to track --some unpleasant stuff they do to cows down here–it would actually be the mark of the beast, wouldn’t it

You just have to carry your Garmin with you and it will direct you back to the RV park once your credit limit has been reached.

But I can see where an implanted chip would be so much better. It could combine the functions of the Garmin along with your medical records, employment history, and all of your web browsing activity. And no need for an I-phone. Just speak to the hand.
