Middle Eastern saints

Does anyone know if there are many saints (both from the early Church and recent times) from the Middle East?
I’m sure there are bound to be several, but I do not know how to find any that are from around Israel, Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia etc.
And if you do know, please state if they were part of the Western or Eastern Rite while in this life as a Catholic. It helps to know to put things in perspective.
Also, if there is there anything in particular they were known for such as: combating certain heresies, undergoing religious persecution or converting souls; that would be good information as well.

If you have a web reference that would be helpful.

The Early Church Fathers would be a good place to start leaning about the many Saints of the Church from that time period.

I was looking at a couple links posted. This could be a huge task to look through! But, I will look again.

It would be interesting to see how saints dealt with Islam and what hardships of triumps they faced and what advice they could lend.

Does the Eastern Church have something equivalent to something such as the Latin Rite’s Butler’s “Lives of the Saints”?
 
There are three other Maronite (from Lebanon) saints - St Maroun, St Nemetallah and St Rafqa
