One thing that is missing from LDS worship, is the midnight Mass on christmas eve. I have attended at my Lutheran Church on christmas eve, in the past, but I might try a catholic mass tonight.

Do you attend church on Christmas eve?

Merry Christmas

Always thought it was interesting that Christmas, is Christ Mass, or in other words, a celebration of Mass for Christ.

I do, have since I was a little kid, Midnight Mass is one of my favourite celebrations.

Longest day of the year for me. I celebrate multiple services today at the church I serve. One of these days, I will take the day off and attend instead of lead and celebrate.

We have 3 Masses on Christmas Eve, and I’m planning to attend the latest one tonite. They are all beautiful and holy.

Sure, you are welcomed to attend the Catholic mass. I definitely will - I have never missed Midnight mass in the last 30 years.

At our parish, we have 6 masses today. Every other 2 hours, we celebrate a mass - it starts at 2:00pm.

I will also attend Christmas mass next morning. 🙂

Can’t get to any Masses. I am caregiver for my mother and it is impossible to get a break for Mass. I am very sad about this as I always went to Midnight Mass. I used to sing in the choir at church and now I can’t.

I am here in UK. Tonight’s Catholic Midnight Mass is not televised but on BBC Radio 4. I will listen to that but it’s not the same as being onewith the Universal Church. Say a quick prayer for us.

May the Holy Spirit visit your heart this evening, bringing to you the joy of the Christ mass in a way equal to actually attending.
Amen.

My dad used to feel the same way. He loved serving the Church, but also at times yearned to just attend. May the HS use your hands and words to benefit HIs flock.

Not this year. I sing with the parish chamber choir, and while we used to sing at the 9 pm Christmas Eve Mass, we’ve been bumped to 11 am tomorrow morning instead. However, this means that we get to spend this Christmas Eve with family, which is never a bad thing. My uncles are getting old- the oldest ones are in their 70s- and they have histories of heart disease and diabetes. Who knows how long we’ll have with them. I hope to get a lot of photos tonight. Five years ago I spent my grandma’s last Christmas Eve with her and never regretted it either.

I do have to say, Midnight Mass is truly magical. If you’ve never been, I encourage you to go. If I didn’t have to be present at church and ready to sing at 10:15 on Christmas morning, I’d probably attend at Midnight.

Wouldn’t a Mormon Church be missing Mass all year round and just not on Christmas Eve 😉

I have one Mass tonight which I will attend and then Christmas Mass tomorrow.

God bless

You are united with the Universal Church through your compassion, care and mercy as you take care of your mother. Do not doubt this.

God bless you and may you have a very Merry Christmas.

Midnight is too late for me! I’m going to the 5pm vigil today.

Merry Christmas to you too.

I will attend Mass this evening, and I promise I will remember you and pray for you and your mom.
How’s that for a universal Church?

Just came home from Midnight Mass about an hour ago. Merry Christmas everyone!

If you have QuickTime media player, you might be able to watch the Papal Christmas Mass live on Vatican TV. Hopefully you’ll see this soon as I expect Midnight Mass at St. Peter’s to start in about 1.5 hours.

I and my daughter are attending Midnight mass. We usually do.

I will attend. I made a point of washing all my church clothes yesterday so that I could be sure to be ready for it. Midnight Mass is an amazing event. I feel truly blessed and awed to be able to celebrate the arrival of Our Lord and Savior in this way.

we have planned to attend the midnight mass tonight but my wife who is still cooking, just screamed at me saying, “if i’m not done w/ this, we’ll attend mass tomorrow at 8 am.” 😊 she who knows how to cook rules, so i said, “Amen.”
Merry Christmas.

6 oclock Children’s Mass was packed, standing 2 deep in the aisles and outside w/doors open (it was still in high 70s then). 8 oclock, fairly full, like an average Sunday, 10 Spanish, 2/3 full, like average Sunday, Midnight less than half full. 9 am today will be 3/4 full mostly winter Texans and other elderly who don’t like to drive at night. so many people go to the Basilica for Christmas, which has Masses practically round the clock and their huge parking lot will be full, just like the Mall was last weekend.
