Miles Jesu--strange stuff

I have been looking for a thread I was part of but I can’t find it.
Anyway it was about this group Miles Jesu. A lot of people had their opinions so I when to their site. I thought these two things were strange:

It was intended to maintain Catholic orthodoxy in their kingdoms, and to replace the medieval inquisition which was under papal control. (She took control from it the Pope!? Is this a good example for modern rulers?)

Aren’t all three of these thing Huge problems that keep people from becoming Catholic? Why do they want to canonize her? Didn’t even the ultra-conservative Pope JPII apologize for the Inquisition etc… This just seems weird!

The white people despise the dark people meanwhile the white people are diminishing. The dark people are growing and sadly contemplate that the white people are disappearing.

** This seems like a weird generalization. Miles Jesu might consider me “white” but I dated and even contemplated marrying a “dark” person. Plus it is written by their founder!

Who cares? I was taught in Catholic schools that we are one race. And if we are darker or not does that matter? It is just evolution some groups disappear!

Each race is a treasure to humanity and the Church always defends it as such. Isn’t it ironic that the same white race that some are mistakenly promoting as supreme is the race that is destroying itself? The price of pride is always self-destruction.

I might just write this tract off as just a mistake but combined with Queen Isabel? They seem like there is some racism there. What do you all think?

Isabella’s canonization:
I have met several people not affiliated with this group who are very Pro sainthood for Queen isabella. She was a great Christian ruler for her times. Perhaps she was a saint. The Church will decide this in spite of what you may see as stumbling blocks to non-Catholics.

White people/dark people:
sociological studies show that the European birth rate is declining and the middle eastern muslim birth rate is increasing. I believe what the author might be referring to is that the Muslim world may be becoming a majority in many countries and they are concerned for the Christian Church declining along with the birth rate.

We are not “all one race”. We are all one creation. We are all human beings. We are all loved by our Heavenly Father. Christ died for us all. But “one race” is not part of the equation. I do not think of myself or anyone else who recognizes that there are different races/ ethinicities as being racist. The author plainly says “Each race is a treasure .” This is not a racist statement.

The author also does not seem to be condoning “The white people despise the dark people” but stating a fact. Many white European humans do despise our darker skinned fellow humans. The author does not say that is a good thing.

“The price of pride is always self-destruction”. This is a very true statement.

I don’t know anything else about the group except the websites sited here in this thread. I suspect the issue needs more research to make a valid decision.

I am not pro canonization of Isabella particularly.

My coloring makes me a minority in my work office where almost everyone else calls themselves “African American” and states if asked that they are black racially. I am expected to call myself white as I am of western European background. Although I only do so on questionaires where racial demography is requested.

I suspect you may have a misapprehension about races. The individuals I work with revel in their ethnicity. In fact we are presently in the middle of Black Heritage Month. In our office there is a Black Social Workers Organization. We have a Latino Committee who has activities Latino in culture throughout the year. We have the Native American Tribal groups who also publicize their racial background and culture. Even Islam can have an “Information Day” about their faith and culture.
All these are considered perfectly valid and encouraged.
What is not seen in this mix? Italian groups, Irish organizations, French committees, German Heritage Workers, Spanish Culture
clubs etc. And certainly not the Catholic Culture Club.
Now please let’s not decide who is racist from a website you have not yet totally researched.
BTW…yes we are all of the HUMAN Race… But just don’t try to tell my co-workers they are not of different races than the evil white western Europeans of the US and other countries.

As far as the office thing where you work slyboots, The whites, germans, irish,italians and others would have to get together to come up with a group and call it the Society for European Culture Studies. You should be aware that if you had a group called the Caucasian College Fund, everybody would be saying the whites are being predjucied,so we just can’t win. Also, my sister lives and works in New York.
Up there, white people have asked her,what are you?, Meaning, what ethnic group do you belong to? She replys sometimes German,and sometimes Hungarian.Why, because our dad was german and our mother hungarian. Up there , it seems like the only white groups up there are Irish and Italian, they forget that there are also,Czechs, Germans, Swedes,etc on the east coast too. Why should this matter what ethnic group you belong to if your white, just stupid,its that us versus them mentality.
As far as Isabella of Spain is concerned, I think her daughter, Catherine of Aragon would be a better candiate for saint.

Oddly enough, there are people (usually NE European stock) who say that Italians aren’t “white”.

Personally, the whole “race” thing stymies me, the more I think about it. Black v. White v. Brown etc to me are only useful as “visual indicators” – like blond(e), brunet(te), redhead, etc.

I remember during your Pres campaign, a woman appeared on Jon Stewart’s show, and denied that Barack Obama was “black”, due to his not being descended from African slaves; instead, he was “African-American”. In his book To Sir, With Love, the author Braithwaite mentioned that he was always referred to as “West Indian with an English mother”, never “English with a West Indian father”.

And I can’t remember who, but one (at-least-)biracial actress was annoyed with people demanding that she declare herself as either “white” or “black”: she was angry that she would be required to deny half her heritage to please the political demands of other people.
