Apart from Our Lady of Guadalupe seminary and the seminary of the Institute of Christ the King, are there any seminaries which teach the Traditional Latin Mass? (also apart from SSPX)

I understand that members of the FSSP and ICKSP cannot become military chaplains because they only are permitted to offer the Traditional Latin mass and not the Novus Ordo.

So I was wondering if there were any other traditional seminaries which taught the Traditional Latin Mass, for someone interested in being a chaplain in the army?

I would be most grateful for any insight.

God bless you.

There are dioceses that will let you learn it as part of your coursework, and of course, those guys can become army priests. You’d probably be expected to celebrate the OF most of the time though. If you’re asking about if there are priestly fraternities like the FSSP that do that, there are none to my knowledge.

Thank you so much for your response! D’you know which dioceses are most friendly to the Traditional Latin Mass, and that let you learn it as part of their coursework?

God bless you!

The diocese of Madison, Wisconsin had the now-deceased Bishop Morlino lead a lot of efforts into making the TLM available to his flock. Hopefully his successor will not sweep all that aside, whoever he may be. Nebraska is where the FSSP’s seminary is, so I imagine Nebraska is a good place too. Bishop Sample of Portland, Oregon, also supports the TLM, as does Bishop Strickland of Tyler, Texas. Those are the ones I know off the top of my head.

Have you been in contact with your diocese and its vocation office?
If not, that is the first place to start.
Seminary isn’t like college, where you get to pick and choose where you go and what you study.
