No the real question is - now that you are being provided accurate information - what are **YOU **doing ?My question to that man/radio station is, what are they doing to solve the problem? Have they contacted the Bishops and told them how they felt? Have they been proactive in trying to respond to the situation? Or are they simply pointing fingers. I understand their frustration at what is going on but attacking the church isn’t going to help. There is already enough of that going on from the secular world. They should not be attacking “most, not all” of the Bishops without hard core evidence that they are lounging around doing nothing. It makes it really hard for Bishops to “Sheppard their sheep” when the sheep refuse to understand and faithfully follow their Sheppard’s.
Have they ever been in the Bishops shoes and had to put up with all they do every single day? To me this sounds similar to the attacks on the Holy Father, claiming that he is responsible for the sex abuse scandal when he was the one doing the most to try and stop it!!! It’s one thing to speak your mind and quite another to accuse a group of people (especially Bishops!) when you haven’t walked a mile in their shoes!
I know from watching the World Over on EWTN that many of the Bishops (UCCB) have been extremely proactive in trying to not let this bill pass. Just because they weren’t successful doesn’t mean they haven’t done anything!![]()
Agreed! No the real question is - now that you are being provided accurate information - what are **YOU **doing ?
Have you contacted your Diocese Bishop to make certain that the “Catechism of the Catholic Church, Second Edition” is promenently on his web site? The same with your Parish priest ?
According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Second Edition, each Bishop’s **first task **is teaching.
He certainly can not be everywhere in his Diocese all at once, but he can easily make certain the CCC - which is the authoritative reference for teaching is known and accessible to the Faithful.
Has your Parish priest discussed the CCC from the pulpit? Your Parish priest works for your Bishop.
What was the last thing your Bishop taught in your Diocese? When was the last time he spoke at your Parish in turn?
Heresy and Schism abound - with Sisters and so-called Catholic politicians, Catholic organizations such as the CHA, and Catholic Universities creating scandals.
Catholic charities money being provided to organizations who actively promote gay marriage, abortion and socialism.
Some Catholic Universities and some Catholic High Schools honoring public pro-abortion speakers at graduation commencement ceremonies and given honorary degrees.
What are you doing about any of this? Before you judge someone else, make certain that you are contacting your Bishop.
We each have a responsibility.
I, for one, am grateful to RealCatholicTV, Catholic Media Coalition, Bellarmine Ministries and others for doing the job no one else seems to want to take on. Something is dreadfully wrong and it’s time for the truth to be exposed. We, as laity, have an obligation to do this as well, as stated in the catechism. Others disagree and say it is giving scandal, but I don’t buy it!My question to that man/radio station is, what are they doing to solve the problem? Yup! People may not like the hard truth, but they know a bunch of bull when they see it.I, for one, am grateful to RealCatholicTV, Catholic Media Coalition, Bellarmine Ministries and others for doing the job no one else seems to want to take on. We are living in an age of heresy when Catholics-in-name-only are dissenting and rebelling from authentic Church teaching and no disciplinary action is being taken. You only need to look at the daily reports from the various Catholic news agencies to see this is true. Look at the Father Pflegers of this world and then take a look at the dissenting women religious who have received awards from the bishops themselves, while at the same time being investigated by the Vatican for doctrinal error. Does this make any sense at all? Incidentally, Sr. Keehan is one of those award winners. Right now there is a thread on this forum regarding the U.K. bishops and their neglect to rightly instruct the faithful on explicit sex education in schools.
Many groups are trying to bring attention to this very serious matter, in fact one group in particular is, or was, going strong. “Reform the CCHD Now” is drawing attention to the indisputable FACT that our bishops are giving our Catholic money to help fund pro-abortion groups.
The bishops job is to govern, sanctify and teach. Sorry, but I really don’t see much of that going on right now!
These are all great points and something for everyone to reflect on, including myself. I just get agrivated when people attack bishops. They represent Christ here on earth, as do all priests! No the real question is - now that you are being provided accurate information - what are **YOU **doing ?
