Mini-skirts+Church=

I just heard on Univision(spanish news channel)

that in Mexico city there is somewhat of a contraversy.
What heard is that there were some women wearing mini-skirts in the “Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe”

And so (as it should be done) a priest threw them out…and the angry women returned to protest outside of the church wearing even smaller mini-skirts

So what do yall think about this…should the priest have done what he did?

and what is yalls opinion on what the women are doing?

I wish ALL priests had the same guts that this one has! Amen, alleluia! Church is for worshiping GOD, not flaunting your body. Ever hear of modesty? Apparently no one does anymore. Very sad.
As for the women…they need a LOT of prayers. But I guess it’s an age old cycle. The Romans had temple prostitutes too, so maybe they are taking their cues from them.

My pastor would do the same thing. I heard that it had already happened at my parish that someone was sent home.

A priest (idk if the same one) said that they are like prostitutes…yea he had guts to do such a thing

I also say good for him. We have enough distractions in the secular world and do not need women who do not know how to dress appropriately attending religious celebrations. I teach junior high religious education and I try to stress the importance of modest dress at Mass. Society is so accepting of so much trash that most are becoming desensitized to this type of request and will see the repremand as an insult…teachccd

It was an insult to wear this kind of attire in a church, let alone the basilica honoring the Mother of God. Although this is private revelation, I recall what Our Lady of Fatima told Blessed Jacinta regarding immodest dress and how it grieved her.

Unfortunately, these days, we see halters, mini-skirts, low-rise jeans (and pants) and descending cleavage. We seem to have lost a sense of the sacred.

Might I also add that modesty applies to men also. A guy who shows up in the summer with no shirt on or a wife beater(the shirt, not the domestic violence perpetrator) should be treated in the same fashion.
