My dh and I saw the Minions movie yesterday. It was cute, although I thought one scene wasn’t appropriate for children. The plot, what plot there was, seemed like it was patched together in a hurry, to cash in on the popularity of the little yellow creatures. They were better featured within the Despicable movies, IMHO.
Anyway, there’s Minions cereal, and cookies, toys, and etc., etc., etc. It tells me that America is so hungry for old-fashioned merriment- 99% of which modern media lacks due to having no clue about what makes real joy in our lives, that we’ve latched onto these characters like people clinging to life jackets in a sea of slime.
That’s my thoughts on the Minions phenomena, anyway.
