"John Thompson stood outside the police union leader’s home and and gave an expletive-laden speech . . . “Come on over here with your ‘Blue Lives Matter’ sign,” he said. "Blue lives ain’t s—, and if people in Hugo don’t support black people, f— Hugo.” . . . Thompson . . . was filmed beating pinata effigies of Kroll and his wife, a TV news anchor."

.

Democrat John Thompson continues to enjoy Democrat party support.

(Now that the cat is out of the bag in the media, maybe this support will change for all the wrong reasons).

Minnesota police group pulls Democratic endorsements after candidate beats effigy of police union president

The Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association board voted this week to instead back Republican challengers

Fox News Flash top headlines for September 11

. . . The Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association board voted this week to back Republican challengers instead of Democratic incumbents. The association, which represents more than 10,000 officers, had endorsed DFL candidates in both races.

Minneapolis state house candidate John Thompson stood outside the police union leader’s home and and gave an expletive-laden speech to a crowd of Black Lives Matter demonstrators in August.

“Come on over here with your ‘Blue Lives Matter’ sign,” he said. "Blue lives ain’t s—, and if people in Hugo don’t support black people, f— Hugo.” . . .

. . . Brian Peters, executive director of the association, said his group is deeply frustrated by the DFL caucus’ support of Thompson after he was filmed beating pinata effigies of Kroll and his wife, a TV news anchor. . .

. . . “Democrats have turned their backs on law enforcement and embraced radical ideas like disarming peace officers and defunding police departments,” Susan Akland, the Republican candidate running against DFL Rep. Jeff Brand in a southern Minnesota district, wrote on Facebook. . . .

In fairness, at least some members of his party are reacting, although they waited a few weeks, from mid-August until September 8.

My other comment would be about journalists who quoted the outrageous event as occuring in mid-August rather than giving the exact date. What ever happened to Who? What? Where? and When? Do facts no longer matter in journalism?

The fact that Thompson continues to enjoy formal Democrat support speaks volumes. At least to me.

I don’t think this attitude is an outlier for these people (and they have been using law enfocement for years for and political endorsements and votes. Looks like firtunately that is changing).

New York City had an anti-police rant by their main public health official (Commissioner of Health of the City of New York) in mid-march.

She continued on the job with deBlasio support for months. (She eventually resigned in August.)

The New York Police Department requested 500,000 surgical masks from the health commissioner

New York City’s health commissioner blew off an urgent NYPD request for 500,000 surgical masks as the coronavirus crisis mounted — telling a high-ranking police official that “I don’t give two rats’ asses about your cops,” The New York Post has learned. . . .

Barbot you will recall is the NYC Government public health official that told us the corona virus was not a concern after Preident Trump expressed it was (President Trump by then even cutting off travel to the US for certain people).

True enough. (Even I am surprised the Democrat Party still endorses this guy though. Especially now that the “mask” is off and this is all now national public knowledge.)
My other comment would be about journalists who quoted the outrageous event as occuring in mid-August rather than giving the exact date.
I agree with that too. They should have harkened back to the offense in a more explicit manner.

FoxNews would probably just say . . . But the article was not about that PRIMARILY, but was about Democrat John Thompson’s union endorsement loss.

The obvious question that 3 week timeframe between the Thompson event (where Thompson is cussing out police AND beating up the guy AND his WIFE’s effigy) and union endorsement-loss raises . . . if they DID show that this was three weeks ago is. . . “What took you so long police union . . . to drop John Thompson’s union endorsement?”

And this switch to Republican endorsing (in a union no less!) probably happened over a bitter internal union battle.

I agree with your points.
