Miracle of the Multiplication mosaic found on ‘wrong’ side of Sea of Galilee

The author claims that because the ancient church is in the gentile Decapolis region and the miracle supposedly couldn’t have taken place there as Jesus was preaching in Galilee and Judea to Jews, not gentiles.
 
The fish shown in the mosaics look as though they might be St. Peter’s fish, the commercial name now given to the local species of tilapia:

which makes sense because they generally live on lakes such as the Sea of Galilee.
 
“Wrong” side? In what sense?
The traditional site of the Feeding of the Five Thousand is at Tabgha, formerly Heptapegon, near Capernaum on the northwestern shore of the Sea of Galilee. It’s shown on the map at the bottom of the Haaretz report that @Dan_Defender links to in his OP. The church at Tabgha is a modern building except for the ancient floor with the well-known “loaves and fishes” mosaic.
