Hello CAF friends
could anyone recommend a good book on miracles for a non-Catholic who is open to the faith and is searching?

Hi Becca!

If you google or whatever search for Miracles of the Eucharist, relics, the Incorruptables, and certain lives of the saints such as St. Teresa of Avila, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Padre Pio, usually good books will pop up. There are so many awesome miracles recorded over the last 2000 years! If you have any questions about authors and their orthodoxy, please feel free to ask me about it, because the Holy Spirit has always helped me find the absolute best books!

Praying for you and your conversion. Have fun and God bless you!

❤️:heaven:

Great thanks! I like all those suggestions. I m a big fan of St Padre
Pio myself. I sense that the person Im asking for seems to be drawn towards the Eucharistic miracles so lots of good tips xBec

These aren’t books, but Unsolved Mysteries came out with their own Miracles collection which I think is really good. I bought the 4-disk DVD set myself and have enjoyed it. It is kind of expensive now since it is out of print.

Unfortunately, too, some of the “miracles” are obviously not of God and possibly from demons. However, there’s still a lot of good miracle mysteries in it. They have the stories of Lourdes, Audrey Santo, Shroud of Turin, Fatima, Image of Guadalupe, St. Padre Pio, Fr. Solanus Casey, and others. 🙂

The DVD set is available on Amazon.

God bless!

CS Lewis’ Miracles. Especially for someone who is searching, this is a great starter on accepting miracles in Christianity, and then use specifically ‘Catholic’ books to discuss/detail Eucharistic, Marian, and saintly miracles.

There is a current issue of Life magazine called Miracles. You should be able to find it in Barnes and Noble, but I noticed the magazine has a “shelf life” date of Feb. 14 this year and may be pulled from shelves then. I got a B&N gift card for Christmas and had actually been wanting that magazine for Christmas. It is $12.99 (more in Canada). I spent some time in the store reading it because I had forgotten to put the gift card in my wallet. It seems very good and has lengthy articles in addition to photos (unusual for Life). I also saw it for sale on Ebay for $7.99 by more than one seller, but that was a week ago.

If you read the part about the US National Rosary pilgrimage to Lourdes (with photos from 1958), that is my grandfather, John Hodgson (they spell it Hudgson) in the magazine. I picked up about 10 copies for my immediate and extended family. I’ve been blessed to go three times, and each trip is miraculous, but it isn’t a physical healing…

How interesting. Thank you for some great info. Its sparking my own interest in the subject I have to admit. I have to ask though- what is Barnes and noble? Im guessing a bookshop? Youll have to forgive me, I live across the pond!!

Yep.

Ah, I noticed there’s also a 1991 issue on Miracles from Life Magazine, but I think I found the 2014 one (2 days left on the auction):

ebay.com/itm/Life-Miracles-The-Presence-of-God-in-Our-Lives-2013-Time-Special-FREE-SHIPPING-/171236015272?pt=Magazines&hash=item27de763ca8 ~ 10 dollars and free shipping (at least in the U.S. :D)

And now that I think about it, I think I did read some of this issue a couple of weeks ago; One of the things I think this issue talked about was the Holy Fire miracle that occurs every year at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem on Holy Saturday. ~ I am skeptical of this particular miracle, though, based on what I’ve researched about it.

Barnes and Noble is the largest bookseller in America. They have brick and mortar stores and an on line store. The brick and mortar stores are big and have very nice layouts. They usually have a Starbucks Coffee shop within the store or attached to them. Some have couches or large comfortable chairs for reading. My local one is not that big and toook them out when they started selling Nook readers because they needed a lot of space for that. Now it looks like a combination of a bookstore and a tech store.😦 But they do have a window seats built next to the windows. (Not cushioned.)

If you ever saw the movie You’ve Got Mail, I think Fox Books in the story was patterned after Barnes and Noble. The fictional Fox Books seems much bigger than a BandN, though.

Also, search for Catholic publishers on line like Ignatius Press. Forgot to mention that yesterday. :doh2:

God Bless you!

Does anybody have any opinion on books such as:

The Incorruptibles
by : Joan Carroll Cruz

The Shroud of Turin: A case for Authenticity
by: Vittorio Guerrera

The Shroud (Revised and Updated 2010)
by: Ian Wilson

Eucharistic Miracles
by: Joan Carroll Cruz

*Also the Newly Released

Witnesses to Mystery: Investigations into Christs Relics
by: Grzegorz Gorny and Janusz Rosikon

Aren’t there more books such as these? I think this is what the Original Poster was wondering and even myself.
