Have you ever read Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis?

If Lewis were here today and wrote a second series, what do you think he would emphasize?

I have, but it’s been a while. I think Lewis was a great writer and had some real tangible understanding of the spiritual things. If I had to guess, I’d say Lewis would focus on deception and sovereignty of God. The deceiving ways of the enemy are numerous, far-reaching and least suspect. I think he would also emphasize the far-reaching means of grace and God’s power to overcome the enemy.

While I admire his work, I don’t base my theology or demonic experiences on his experiences and knowledge alone.

I can’t remember the man’s name. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that the gift of healing died out with the apostles. God healed his child in order to lead him out of the watchtower into a personal relationship with Jesus.

I seriously doubt God would work a miracle to bear witness to a false gospel like Islam – otherwise the confrontation between Elijah and the prophets of Baal makes no sense.

That’s a good argument, but I don’t think that God is only concerned with “bearing witness” to himself. We are all God’s children and I believe that he will help us if we ask him. I was not raised Catholic, but I believe that God worked miracles in my life, and with His help, I came to an understanding of the Catholic faith. The thing is that after the miracle in question was performed, I could have just as easily denied the calling and remained nondenominational.
