These are all truly miraculous stories!
Yes, good one. And with the exception of Romania, not a drop of blood was spilled. The tearing down of the Berlin Wall and the the Iron Curtain, thanks to a big role from JPII!
That was incredible-- happened almost overnite. And no one was predicting it.
Nice bump, Ave.Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with Thee. Blessed art Thou among women and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Hi brother you may be surprised I for one and my wife relate this way often. The man was listening and he was hanging on every slow word that Gail was speaking. She slowly asked some questions and the man replied each question as he knew a little about Jesus and that he did want Jesus and did not want to go to hell.
Finally Gail asked him the last question was he sure he wanted Jesus. Was there anything else he wanted more than he wanted Jesus. And the man definitely wanted Jesus. So Gail led him in prayer.
After Gail was done talking with the man, I talked with him a little. From what I recall, I think the man was under house arrest – but did not need an electronic monitoring device. The sling around his arm was because he had been shot. And there was still an inoperable bullet remaining right next to his heart. He had been warned by doctors that if he was bumped very hard or did any activity that included physical effort – that the bullet could move and he could die instantly.
I still generally consider this to be one of the biggest miracles I’ve ever seen. That the Lord had guided myself and Gail to the one man who would have all the patience to listen to Gail very slowly explain how he needed Jesus.

Don’t ask me to reconcile it with what I’ve learned in RCIA or since. All I can say is when I tell this story to a Priest or Nun (in private) they do not argue that such a thing did not happen. I don’t tell the story much at all. But at the retreat I recently attended I told a nun. We agreed that not many Catholics do that kind of thing. I suppose perhaps this is why my journey began in such a manner.
So you may ask where is the faith, hope or love? I know that Gail had prayed very hard for many days. She had faith and hope. And what about the young man – surely he had a mother or grandmother who perhaps was worried about how much trouble he was always getting into. Perhaps drugs or gangs, I don’t know. But I am quite willing to bet that he had somebody who loved him and who had been praying for him. Especially since he had gotten shot and still had a bullet next to his heart that doctors couldn’t remove.
Through reading about miracles in the Bible and in my experiences (in evangelism while I was in my 30’s about 20 to 25 years ago), it does seem to me that genuine miracles can happen. And that Christian love, hope and faith are always somewhere nearby.
Read what the Catholic Catechism has to say about the precious name of Jesus. Apparently the precious name has no bounds.
