Miracles you have witnessed

I’m not sure if this is a miracle or my brain playing tricks on me…I choose to believe it is the former.

Ten years ago, I was in a really bad car accident. A semi truck pulled into my lane on the freeway and clipped the back driver’s side of my car. This caused my car to spin sideways right in front of the semi. The truck t-boned my door. I don’t actually remember the impact because I blacked out for a split second…but the proof of the impact was evident on the car. After being hit a second time, my car spun completely around as it slid across the freeway (missing all the other cars - it was rush hour), hit the inside median at a sort of angle, and flipped upside down. The car slid about 100 feet on its windshield.

The miracle: After coming to after the second impact, I physically felt like something was hugging me. I felt this overwhelming sense of peace and felt as if whatever was hugging me was letting me know that my friend (who was in the car with me) and I would be okay. I knew that the car was going to flip over, and when it did, I watched as the asphalt speeding by under the windshield got closer and closer to my face…yet I was totally peaceful.

Both my friend and I walked away from the accident…my friend with a few scratches, me with torn ligaments in my spine and some minor although permanent head injuries. Nothing that keeps me from functioning like any normal person.

It was actually that event that triggered my conversion to Catholicism.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with Thee. Blessed art Thou among women and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

My life is full of these one such was the conversion of me from basic catholic at 11 I had an accident thrown from my bike across the three lane road head first onto the concrete path. This happened outside the Catholic church at the consecration. I was given up for dead and on my parents praying Dr’s told them they should pray for me to die or if I lived I would be a cabbage, I was 3 weeks in a coma, three weeks latter I was back home.

I contracted Meningitis, 5 months latter and was again given up for dead, after falling into a coma again, once again Many prayed for my healing. I woke started mending and Dr’s found a crack from one end of my head to the other, they said I would I would have to have an operational to seal it but it was the first of it’s kind in the world so it might not work.

Prayers prayers and more. Masses given up for me, last rights given.

I had the operation and it was successful. 6 months latter I was playing representative rugby as a lock where Dr’s said I should be dead or a cabbage. Men gave me up but God did not!
So!
I offered my whole life up to God to do with what He wanted.
He is and I won’t look back unless it is to boast the goodness of God.
This is the beginning of formal miricals many followed.

The tearing down of the Berlin Wall and the the Iron Curtain, thanks to a big role from JPII! 👍

That was incredible-- happened almost overnite. And no one was predicting it.
Yes, good one. And with the exception of Romania, not a drop of blood was spilled.

The Lord has literally, physically intervened in my life countless times to spare me. He did so again only two weeks ago.

young niece left a destructive lifestyle, got a job, went back to school and got engaged to a wonderful Catholic man (now married 10 yrs with 2 kids, even though she is supposedly unable to conceive due to a childhood illness) all within a year of the death of her grandmother, who we believe has been interceding in heaven on the grandchild’s behalf.

another child in same family, in HS, driving a car full of other teens on the freeway, lost control in a construction zone, car overturned and came to rest on the only strip of median (about 100 yeards) in a miles-long stretch of highway over a deep gorge. all metal was peeled off the sides and top of the car, all windows blown out. responding troopers expected multiple casualties. All 5 kids walked away unharmed. a friend from our town happened to witness the accident, recognized kids and called parents testifies to the miracle.

Nice bump, Ave. 😉

I really enjoy reading these, and hope more people post in this thread.

I don’t understand why personal revelation is off limits, though.

I said to my cousins girlfriend one day “if you want someone to speak to then give me a call”. Why I said this I don’t know, but within an hour she rang.
“Wayne I want what you’ve got”. I told her that the only thing I have is Jesus Christ, she said "I want that"and could i come around in an hour.I did that and to my surprise there were 7 Maori women at her table. I told them what we would have to do and they agreed.

I told them through the sinners prayer invited them to receive Jesus into their hearts and invite the Holy Spirit in to strengthen them.
They all accepted this and joined a ethnic christian church.???
Well all because of what came out of my mouth when I met her.

I was asked by our priest if I would carve an alter for our new alterations in the church. I said Fr, neither of us have money to buy the timber so letts pray.
I asked Jesus for the timber and next day at work (Board Mills) the boss told me the boss from the bush gang (working 50 miles away) wanted to see me. He asked me if I was still carving timber I told him I was. He said he had a 80 foot Tree log 9ft at the girth I could have.
On seeing my amazement he said don’t worry we have dragged it out from the bush, cut it into three lengths, haled it onto the logging truck and are bringing it down to the saw mill where you will supervise the cutting up of it.

Looking at this there were 5 bush workers, 17 saw millers and my self working on this log. I supervised the cutting and then on the mill truck I drove I delivered it to my house in three loads.

Now the cost to the mill I could not tell you but even the 17 workers for a days work and myself would be $1000s, and all for a church because of a prayer. The cost to me …nothing I still got paid. the use of the logging truck for some 50miles, the use of the machinery, the cleaning out of the shoots to make sure the tree never got mixed with other salable timber, then the resetting up of the saw mill for their own operation how much?? I could never know. But this is how much our God loves us.

God bless

Note – I went through RCIA a few years ago. But I have seen miracles – and I do not take credit for any of them. It is always God.

But it does seem to me that miracles can come about for Bible-believing Christians – and that there are three things present somewhere in each miracle – Love, Hope and Faith. And to think that those (Love Hope and Faith) are on each Rosary.

Perhaps the most interesting miracle I ever saw was this (mid 1980’s – well before I went to RCIA).

My best friend at the time was a Jesus-loving street evangelist named Larry B__. He had taught me how to talk to people about Jesus and to lead them in prayer to ask Jesus into their heart. We only prayed with people who were 100% sure that they wanted Jesus more than anything else. Larry had planned a training day where people from a certain church were going to go out “witnessing”.

There was a diabetic woman (Gail J__) who was legally blind and could barely read the script very slowly – even though it was greatly magnified with a photocopier. Gail had prayed a lot that she would be able to talk with somebody and lead them to pray to receive Christ. I was chosen to take Gail out and help her to find somebody.

I drove Gail to a public housing project in Tampa where I knew there were many people who would listen because they knew they needed help. Frankly it was not a safe place at all, but I had experience in going places like that. Early in the day (Saturday morning) was normally safe – later on when people had started drinking or using drugs it could be quite dangerous.

As I got there to a playground area, I saw a tall muscular young Black man who was wearing a sling around his arm. So I introduced Gail and had her start reading. Gail was reading terribly slowly. Each word she said was really one at a time and I thought the man might not want to listen. But I just stood there knowing that if God was going to work in that man He would do the work and I would not be needed.

continuing…

The man was listening and he was hanging on every slow word that Gail was speaking. She slowly asked some questions and the man replied each question as he knew a little about Jesus and that he did want Jesus and did not want to go to hell.

Finally Gail asked him the last question was he sure he wanted Jesus. Was there anything else he wanted more than he wanted Jesus. And the man definitely wanted Jesus. So Gail led him in prayer.

The whole time, I merely stood and did not speak at all until Gail finished talking with the young man. So I am convinced that I was not part of any miracle, other than being guided as to where to go.

After Gail was done talking with the man, I talked with him a little. From what I recall, I think the man was under house arrest – but did not need an electronic monitoring device. The sling around his arm was because he had been shot. And there was still an inoperable bullet remaining right next to his heart. He had been warned by doctors that if he was bumped very hard or did any activity that included physical effort – that the bullet could move and he could die instantly.

I still generally consider this to be one of the biggest miracles I’ve ever seen. That the Lord had guided myself and Gail to the one man who would have all the patience to listen to Gail very slowly explain how he needed Jesus.

Don’t ask me to reconcile it with what I’ve learned in RCIA or since. All I can say is when I tell this story to a Priest or Nun (in private) they do not argue that such a thing did not happen. I don’t tell the story much at all. But at the retreat I recently attended I told a nun. We agreed that not many Catholics do that kind of thing. I suppose perhaps this is why my journey began in such a manner.

So you may ask where is the faith, hope or love? I know that Gail had prayed very hard for many days. She had faith and hope. And what about the young man – surely he had a mother or grandmother who perhaps was worried about how much trouble he was always getting into. Perhaps drugs or gangs, I don’t know. But I am quite willing to bet that he had somebody who loved him and who had been praying for him. Especially since he had gotten shot and still had a bullet next to his heart that doctors couldn’t remove.

Through reading about miracles in the Bible and in my experiences (in evangelism while I was in my 30’s about 20 to 25 years ago), it does seem to me that genuine miracles can happen. And that Christian love, hope and faith are always somewhere nearby.

Read what the Catholic Catechism has to say about the precious name of Jesus. Apparently the precious name has no bounds.

Hi brother you may be surprised I for one and my wife relate this way often.
