Hi there everyone,

Can someone let me know a website on how to pray this particular novena? Is the novena to be prayed every Mondays (9 Mondays) or is it to be prayed straight for nine consecutive days? I am quite confused. Any answers are greatly appreciated!!! Thanks and God Bless.

In my younger years the parish I belonged to had a perpetual novena on Monday night.
I believe it was also with benediction but I don’t remember for sure. Since then, I have never come across this novena.

I’ve always thought that there is no stronger novena to be had than one made to Mary, his mother. Being at his right hand, she will always get what she wants.

May Mary show you kindness.

How would Mary “always get what she wants…” when Jesus Himself didn’t always get what He wanted?

Because he would do for Mary what he wouldn’t do for himself…Cana.

God bless.

(And) Jesus said to her, “Woman, how does your concern affect me? My hour has not yet come.”
His mother said to the servers, “Do whatever he tells you.”
Did Jesus do as Mary asked despite telling her His hour had not come?

I think you are trying to create a general rule from one instance. Because Jesus decided to grant her request in one situation, doesn’t mean he would always do so. God doesn’t always does what you want.

Moses also had requests that were refused at first, and then God eventually was gracious enough to grant his requests. So does that now mean I must pray to Moses? Of course not!

There is a misunderstanding about the role of Moses and Mary. There is no obligation that we ask them to pray for us. They are our friends, close friends, and we are asking them to pray for us and our intentions. There is no “must”.

There is a misunderstanding about our love for Moses and Mary. Love seems to be mistaken for worship. We love our family, but we don’t worship them. The confusion is in making love equal to worship which it isn’t. We love Mary very much, and we love Jesus very much. We worship Jesus but we don’t worship Mary. If we keep that distinction then there isn’t the confusion that we worship anyone else but God.

There is a misunderstanding about the saints in heaven. Many Protestants don’t believe there are people in heaven right now because they feel people will only go to heaven at the end of world come judgment day. But Catholics believe that when a person dies, their soul is judged for heaven or hell at that moment. If heaven, then their soul is in heaven and we may ask them for their prayers. If Protestants don’t believe in this particular judgment then they would not believe in praying to the saints for help.

Many Protestants, probably most, ask others to pray for them. It is the same with us for those we believe are in heaven…the saints. And the Miraculous Medal Novena is a special kind of prayer to Mary for help.

May God our Father give you grace and peace.

What you are saying is that Scriptures mean nothing if it is only done once. It is my opinion that this miracle was to demonstrate how powerful Mary’s influence is that was the point of the miracle. Notice that Mary didn’t plead with Him only saying “do what He says”. Powerful message.

To add one more thing. Always God’s will be done and every prayer has that as an understanding that does not have to be stated. When we ask Mary to intercede for us, we are doing so with the understanding that God’s will be done.

I cannot figure out what you are referring to? What requests, and that is plural, did God first refuse Moses?
