If so I’m unaware of it. I just wear the medal. Did you hear or read of an enrollment somewhere?

I have heard after Confirmations that in some more traditional parishes everyone, if willing, is enrolled in the brown scapular and also recieves a miraculous medal.

The very traditional parish that I visit up North does this according to their website. They also celebrate two TLM’s every Sunday 👍🙂

  1. BLESSING AND INVESTITURE WITH SACRED MEDAL OF MARY IMMACULATE
Commonly Known as the “Miraculous Medal”

(Formerly reserved to the Congregation of the Missions)

(Approved by the Congregation of Sacred Rites, April 19, 1895)

The priest who is to bless the sacred medal of the Immaculate Conception, vested in surplice and white stole, says:

P: Our help is in the name of the Lord.

All: Who made heaven and earth.

P: The Lord be with you.

All: May He also be with you.

Let us pray.
Almighty and merciful God, who by the many appearances on earth of the Immaculate Virgin Mary were pleased to work miracles again and again for the salvation of souls; kindly pour out your blessing on this medal, so that all who devoutly wear it and reverence it may experience the patronage of Mary Immaculate and obtain mercy from you; through Christ our Lord.

All: Amen.
The priest sprinkles the medal with holy water, and presents it to the person, saying:

Take this holy medal; wear it with faith, and handle it with due devotion, so that the holy and immaculate Queen of heaven may protect and defend you. And as she is ever ready to renew her wondrous acts of kindness, may she obtain for you in her mercy whatever you humbly ask of God, so that both in life and in death you may rest happily in her motherly embrace.

All: Amen.
The priest continues:

Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. Our Father (the rest inaudibly until:)

P: And lead us not into temptation.

All: But deliver us from evil.

P: Queen conceived without original sin.

All: Pray for us.

P: Lord, heed my prayer.

All: And let my cry be heard by you.

P: The Lord be with you.

All: May He also be with you.

Let us pray.
Lord Jesus Christ, who willed that your Mother, the blessed Virgin Mary conceived without sin, should become illustrious through countless miracles; grant that we who ever seek her patronage may finally possess everlasting joys. We ask this of you who live and reign forever and ever.

All: Amen.

Do you have to be enrolled in it by a priest?
When I was Catholic, I wore the Miraculous Medal but I don’t remember reading anywhere that you had to be “enrolled” in it by a priest. I think you might be thinking of the Brown Scapular.

Mary asked that the medal be blessed by a priest.
This is all that is required, the blessing.

MIRACULOUS MEDAL NINE DAY NOVENA

Opening Prayer

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
Come, O Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful, and kindle in them the fire of Your love.
Send forth Your Spirit, and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth.

Let Us Pray
O God who did instruct the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant us
in the same Spirit to be truly wise and ever to rejoice in His consolation, through Jesus Christ
Our Lord.
Amen.

O Mary, conceived without sin. Pray for us who have recourse to thee. (3 times)

O Lord Jesus Christ, who have vouchsafed to glorify by numberless miracles the Blessed Virgin
Mary, immaculate from the first moment of her conception, grant that all who devoutly implore
her protection on earth, may eternally enjoy Your presence in heaven, who, with the Father and
Holy Spirit, live and reign, God, for ever and ever.
Amen.

O Lord Jesus Christ, who for the accomplishment of Your greatest works, has chosen the weak
things of the world, that no flesh may glory in Your sight; and who for a better and more widely
diffused belief in the Immaculate Conception of Your Mother, has wished that the Miraculous Medal
be manifested to Saint Catherine Labouré, grant, I beseech You, that filled with like humility, I may
glorify this mystery by word and work.
Amen.

Memorare
Remember, O most compassionate Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to
thy protection, implored thy assistance, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired with
this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of Virgins, my Mother. To thee I come; before thee I
kneel, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy
mercy, hear and answer them.
Amen.

Novena Prayer
O Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of Our Lord Jesus and my Mother, penetrated with the most
lively confidence in your all-powerful and never-failing intercession, manifested so often through the
Miraculous Medal. I, your loving and trustful child, implore you to obtain for me the graces and
favors I ask during this Novena, if they be beneficial to my immortal soul, and the souls for
whom I pray. (here privately form your prayer requests) You know, O Mary, how often my soul
has been the sanctuary of your Son who hates iniquity. Obtain for me then a deep hatred of
sin and that purity of heart which will attach me to God alone so that my every thought, word
and deed may tend to His greater glory. Obtain for me also a spirit of prayer and self-denial that
I may recover by penance what I have lost by sin and at length attain to that blessed abode
where you are the Queen of angels and of all people.
Amen.

An Act of Consecration to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal.
O Virgin Mother of God, Mary Immaculate, I dedicate and consecrate myself to you under the title
of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. May this Medal be for me a sure sign of your affection for
me and a constant reminder of my duties toward you. Ever while wearing it, may I be blessed by
your loving protection and preserved in the grace of your Son. O most powerful Virgin, Mother of
my Savior, keep me close to you every moment of my life. Obtain for me, your child, the grace
of a happy death; so that, in union with you, I may enjoy the bliss of heaven forever.
Amen.

O Mary, conceived without sin. Pray for us who have recourse to thee. (3 times)

Here is some important info about the Miraculous Medal, one of Mother Theresa’s
favorites.

“Have a medal struck… All who wear it will receive GREAT graces; they should wear it
around the neck. GRACES will ABOUND for persons who wear it with CONFIDENCE.”
From the mother of Jesus spoken to sister Catherine Laboure 1830.

“Great graces are often attached to what seems trifling.” St. Margaret Mary Alacoque

“The devotions we practice in honor of the glorious Virgin Mary, however trifling they be,
are very pleasing to her divine Son, …” St. Teresa of Jesus

During this apparition, Mary’s hands had 3 rings on each finger. Each ring gave off
rays of colored light. A few rings did not. Mary said that the lights radiating from
the rings are graces that people ASK for. The rings that didn’t radiate she said
were graces not given because they were NOT asked for.

Have it blessed. The devil hates blessed objects. Keep it on all all times.
Wear her medal in her honor because the devil can’t stand her either.

Then say, “Mary I am asking now for great graces which
you promised to those who ask and believe in what you said.”
Trust her, it works. She is the mother of God. Would she lie?
Your mother wants to help you. It is her gift to you. She promised and she will diliver.

The Medal of the Immaculate Conception, or Miraculous Medal, is a Catholic Sacramental symbolizing Consecration to Jesus Christ through the Blessed Virgin Mary.

It has been adopted by the Militia of the Immaculata (MI), a seven million member, Vatican approved, worldwide movement of Marian Consecration, founded by St. Maximilian Kolbe.

If you want to learn more about the Miraculous Medal, Marian Consecration, Saint Maximilian, or enrollment as a Knight of the Immaculata, please visit:

Daily Miraculous Medal Prayer of St. Maximilian Kolbe

“O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to you, and for all who do not have recourse to you, especially the enemies of the Church and those recommended to you.”

Correction: That was to be ‘several’ million (not seven) million (four million actually), and I wanted to include the MI youth link: miyouth.org/
I hope you will check them out 👍

I love my Lady and i love my medal…Blessed by Father Tim and that is enough for me…and i think for Her as well 🙂

I wear both the crucifix and the Miraculous Medal. I want to have them both close to my heart, as Our Lord and Blessed Mother are in my heart.
