Miraculous photos

This is one which was emailed to me. It was taken of the Monstrance during a Eucharistic Parade in the Dominican Republic.

 
Not necessarily “miraculous” but when I was playing with a new little “cheepo” camera I snapped this pic of my lady snoozing in her chair…The “beam” was NOT visible in natural light and I have done nothing to enhance it in the photo.

There IS a small window in our front door which is where the light was coming from, but there is a wall that would prevent a “sunbeam” from shining in at that angle. More especially given the time of year this picture was taken…

As most of you know my lady is “late stage” dementia…
I took this as a wonderful sign from our Lord that He is watching over her.

Sorry to be a downer, but that doesn’t seem like a miraculous photo, but a blurry image due to motion, assuming the monstrance has been moved.

Truly miraculous photos are rare, and should not be considered as proof or a basis for a person’s greater faith. The most famous one I know of is one of St. Charbel Makhlouf appearing in one taken years after he died.
“In 1950, Father George Webby, a Maronite priest from Scranton, visited Lebanon, took a photo of monks outside the wall of the monastery in which St. Charbel had lived and upon development of the picture saw that St. Charbel miraculously appeared with the monks, according to information provided by St. Anthony’s Church.”

He is the central almost transparent figure in the photo. Who knows if this image could be doctored, but the life, teachings, and works of St. Charbel are truly an inspiration to all Christians.

Actually expert photographers agree with the original photographer (a Priest) that the parade was at a stop. The have stated that the monstrance and the bearer are at a standstill because the edges of it and the bearer are crystal clear which means they were not in motion when the photo was taken. One photographer concluded there must have been something physical in that ‘empty space’ to create that image coming out of the monstrance but he had no idea what it could be.
 
Photoshop has destroyed any belief I may have had about “miraculous photos”. 😦

Maybe not but a priest could easily be fooled by someone showing him a photoshop photo.
I don’t believe any of the photos in this thread are miraculous.

Just to be clear - I am not positing that the photo I posted is “miraculous”.
Interesting, yes. Inspirational, yes. Uplifting, yes. Miraculous, no. - Not by what we normally would think of as “miraculous”.
