1.) is it appropriate to have both the priest and a deacon do the washing of feet on Holy Thursday? Whatever the gain in efficiency, it seems to go against the symbolism of Jesus (singular) washing the apostles’ feet.
Otoh, at least they didn’t have EMHCs helping out.
2.) is it normal for bishops to wear a zucchetto? I went to the cathedral in Albany for Good Friday & Bishop Hubbard was wearing one, red (to match his vestments, I guess) and I wondered when he had been promoted to cardinal.
3.) what do you call the extra long cape thingie that the priest uses to wrap around his hands when carrying the cirobia with the consecrated hosts from the tabernacle? (also for the monstrance)
