Misconceptions about trads

I don’t know if this is just me or not but I get the impression that some people view trads who attend the Latin Mass as Right wing extremists.

Is there any base to this idea? I kind of think it is ridiculous. this charge is especially leveled against people who go to the SSPX.

What is your take on this?

Just read around CAF and you will get that sense that some seem like extremists. Not all, thankfully. But there are some out there.

im a trad, i attend the TLM, i am extremely right wing (i guess that is what most people would say that i am), but i would not say i am a right wing extremist.

I consider myself a traditional Catholic. I own firearms and I’m licensed to carry consealed.
Politically I’m ultra-conservative. Would I shoot someone who broke into my house? Does a duck have feathers?

You speak of “right wing extremists” derisively. That is a generic label and I don’t know specifically what you consider to be a “right wing extremist” position. I am interested in knowing what positions you find “extremist.”

Could you perhaps list some “right wing extremist” positions you find extreme? I interpret these “extremist” positions as being possibly offensive to you. Are they also offensive to the Catholic Church?

I would consider myself a typical, modern day Catholic. I love the Mass for all it is. I do not know of any TLMs being offered in our Diocese. I remember a few years ago when the TLM was becoming more accepted I was told there are only a few priests that knew the TLM well enough to celebrate it. I know one of them has retired back to New England.

If I could, I would occasionally attend a TLM.

Robert: First of all - most Liberals oppose the Commandments of GOD. It is for that reason they are liberal. Ask the average Liberal if its ok to Abort a Baby or if Homosexuality is ok or if Radical Feminism and all it stands for (Abortion - Birth Control subjugation of men etc) is merely standing up for women instead of redefining roles established by GOD for women with their salvation in mind as opposed to glorification in this life. It all is a clever ploy to demonize Catholics who abide by the teachings of the Church. Does that make US who want to abide by the Teachings of Jesus through his Church “Conservative” or “Right Wing”. The way I see it - Society has moved left. Society is the one pushing the envelope. But to a Catholic - GOD is the same today as before the 1960’s. God’s Commandments are the same today as in the time of the Apostles. The Gravity of Sins still condemn to Hell the unrepentant sinner by the parameters of JESUS not Society. So am I a right wing conservative or am I merely a Catholic living my faith in a society so degraded as to demonize me for doing so simply because they refuse to.
