When I receive COTT I fold my hands as in prayer, making a double fist, holding my hands against my upper chest, a little below my chin. I say “Amen” and tip my head back a bit, open my mouth and stick out my tongue - there’s little chance of a miscue there. Sometimes the EMHC is a bit surprised to have to deliver communion this way but they definitely know they have to do it. The hands being held so close to the mouth are a dead give-away.
