Alright let me make this as short as I can. On Youtube, there are many extremely graphic videos and also videos which promote the use of pornography(i.e.: advertising such a site). I made it my duty to try to report some of these videos to lessen the opportunities for sinners to find firewood so that there would be an easier chance for redemption. However, some of these videos ARE pornography.
This presents my soul's dilemma. since I have to look where a certain...naughty bit is to mark when it comes so it can be taken down sooner, am I commiting the sin of viewing sexually explicit materials? If my morals are correct, my soul is fine because I did not have a firm belief that the thing I was doing was wrong. however, if this weakens my will, then I will probably be prone to commiting an act I know will be wrong. If we can determine that this is a mortal sin, I can cut this out to remain a bit purer.

Well obviously the straight up Bible is Matthew 6:22-23 and 1 John 3:4.

Taking both these verses in context, I certainly don’t think what you’ve done is sin. And, I don’t think it’s misguided either. Even though there’s A WHOLE LOT of bad stuff on the net, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try to do your part to counteract it. And, I applaud you because I didn’t even know there were people on youtube promoting pornography.
So, on the contrary, my hats tipped to the work your doing in your spare time against evil.:tiphat:

Clearly just seeing something evil isn’t wrong. If you want to see that evil or have a desire to see it, that would be wrong. Motivation is crucial here. If someone sees a gay pride parade, but reviles in what they’re seeing because it is literally promoting evil… that person has done no wrong.
Similarly, lets say someone doesn’t happen chance see something, but searches it out (as you have). Someone searches for prostitutes in a city. If they’re searching out of lust, then they’ll lust after them when they see them. If they’re searching them out to arrest them and throw them in jail… then it is good. If you have completely good motives in doing this, then you won’t be led to sin and certainly aren’t sinning by seeing it.

Its people that say “I’ll just look at porn, to test myself to see if I don’t lust or fall into masturbation” those people are playing with fire and temptation.

Keep up the good work!! 👍
God Bless you :signofcross:

Use the tags and title alone to indicate if you should report a video.

you’re right. However, some videos are just fake clips and I don’t think Youtube has a problem with advertising. If it did, It would be much easier. Not to mention people fake tags and titles just to get views. then i’ll look like a spambot flagging videos to remove them all. Also in response to the other person, I am not doing this to tempt myself. I revile this and wish to remove it. However, in considering what you said, I’ll stop this. Better safe than sorry.
