My daily/Sunday missal is the St. Joseph 1961 missal. It is the most up to date missal with English texts that sound modern, but not too modern (i.e. changing words to be unisex).

I used the St. Andrew 1941 missal when I want exact latin text for booklets, etc. I use the Angelus press missal when I want EVERY up to date feast with latin text. The Angelus press is nice, but the English is old English and every at every EF Mass I have been to the Priest reads the Epistle and Gospel from the St. Joseph Daily Missal text as it is more modern.

Get the leather bound missal which ever one you buy. The binding is usually better and it will hold up a lot better than the cloth covered cardboard of the cheaper versions.

Thanks, MissRose. I’m afraid the Baronius Press Daily Roman Missal is no longer online for $40.00. Quite frankly, I am interested in the Angelus Press Daily Roman Missal, but I hesitate to buy it because it costs over $60.00. I’m hoping to save some money and purchase a used Missal somewhere. Thanks for your helpful feedback!
This is a bit belated… I’ve had both the Baronius and the Angelus Press missals. I like the Angelus press one better - easier to read for an oldie like me.

I just read this first post and followed the link, I have noticed they use modern notation of the chants eg -St. Bonaventure Publications.

But could anyone suggest one using Gregorian notation

Thank you 😃

Why does the link say that the St Andrew’s missal is the only fully traditional Latin-English missal?

Anyway, the Angelus one does have Gregorian notation.

Yes, I wore out two Maryknoll 1961 missals. They were given to us 30 years ago by a friend. They are acceptable and can be used. I never cared for the art work in them but, hey, they were a gift. I, also, have a 1960’s something St. Andrews missal but it doesn’t have the propers in latin. So I don’t use it at all.

I’ll stick with my Angelus Press missal.

I have had the New Fr Lasance Missal(1945/reprinted mid-90’s) going on 15 yrs with regular use. The zippered, leather cover I put it in some years ago has helped preserve it.
The New Marian Missal(1958/reprinted recent years) is a good pick, but I think that with the hard cover you should put it in a case sooner rather than later. The first missal I had, an old, mid-50’s St Joseph Missal had problems with the cover getting loose sometime down the line. Just my thoughts.

I have that one now as I lost my nice Angelus Press missal. I do like my Father Lasance missal - wish the print was a bit bigger.

Ready, have you purchased a missal yet?

I currently have four missals and my Baronius one very seldomly gets used (I tend to use my Angelus and Fr. Lasance ones the most). I can’t stand the thought of someone really wanting one while mine sits on the shelf collecting dust. So if you want it, please PM me your mailing address and I will send it to you free of charge. I don’t mind sending it overseas as well.

It has only been used two to three times and is in very good condition. I’ve taken very good care of it because I treasure books.

Maybe its a promotional stunt 😛

Than you, I just found it 😃
