I remember being in RCIA last summer and one time our director had to walk across the parish’s parking lot (there’s a seperate building from the church when we met) to get the missals so we could use them and learn them. While he was gone, there were a couple who had came late and one of the people told them that our director “went to go get the missals” and the woman looked at him in shock and said, “missels? What missels?” and she meant the weapon!!
When we explained to her what they were in the Church, she relaxed and said, “Oh, I was gonna say, what are we doing with missels?” It was pretty funny!
Does something silly like this ever happen in RCIA or when you try to explain things to converts or people who are thinking about becoming Catholic?
