Missed Mass? Mortal Sin Now?

I cannot make any Mass tomorrow as I am working 8am-8pm but was planning on going to the vigil Mass tonight at 5:30pm.

Due to going to Mass yesterday it felt like a Sunday and today being Boxing Day I totally forgot that it was Saturday and only remembered Mass at 5:40pm and it takes 25 minutes to get to the church.

As a support worker, unless I sneak out of work with somebody I support to get to Mass I won’t make it now. I went once before during work but that time I was working with somebody who didn’t mind whereas tomorrow I am working with someone who won’t like it and will inform the manager.

I am accidently stuck!

You didn’t try to not go to mass so I think it wasn’t a mortal sin.
 
Since you genuinely forgot about the Saturday Mass and are not able to make it to Sunday Mass through no fault of your own, you will not commit a mortal sin.

As much as a great site this is, you might want to spend some time on other sites. I would suggest Vatican.va or usccb.org and connect to links for the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and you will find the answer to your question.

There is no sin if you did not do it intentionally.
 
Doesn’t sound mortal, as others have said.

Are there any late Masses in your area? If you live by a college, sometimes they’ll have Masses at, like, 10pm on a Sunday.
 
It is not a moral sin because if you could, you would have gone to Mass.

Circumstances beyond your control are keeping you from going, so your free will is inhibited.

Given how few folks were at our 5 oclack saturday mass, there are a lot of ‘fogetters’ out there! You made an honest mistake, don’t get all upset.
 
It seems enormously unlikely that you committed mortal sin.

If you want peace of mind, mention in Confession that you forgot about the vigil Mass due to Boxing Day and resolve to be more mindful in the future. You would go to one of the regular Masses on Sunday if you could, but you are working to provide for yourself and/or your family and are unable to do so.
