Missed mass today - this was different

If you put forth the effort to go then you get the credit for having gone.
 
Just to add: if missing Mass is something you struggle with, then missing it can a. bring a quick surge of relief b. become associated with “bad”, “lazy”, etc. So, one thing I had to learn was to realize that, if my intention and attempts were there, the FEELING of being relieved didn’t need to make me feel guilty, nor was it a sin. Just wanted to put that out there 🙂
 
One Sunday, our pastor ended up in the ER with food poisoning (he actually wasn’t feeling well at the Saturday Vigil, either). He had to leave very quickly, but posted a note on the doors to let people know that as they had every intent on fulfilling their Sunday obligtion, and his absence (and therefore, no Liturgy) was outside of their control, they were not breaking the Sunday obligation.
